This was right on the beach so we were very excited. First of all there is no parking for hotel guests since the parking lot is shared with the public for beach access. They had to pay $10 for this. And as hotel guests, we had to pay $10 for parking. Should be free for guests. The cart to bring up the luggage was broken and very dirty. The elevators to the rooms were dirty. They have never been cleaned. The room was ok, but dirty. The floors were terrible. They are not mopped everyday. You could see the dirt spots. We had to wear socks, the bare floor got our feet dirty. Even after a shower make sure you put socks on. The bathroom had black mold on the ceiling and behind the sink facet looks like they are trying to grow potatoes behind it. The walls were thin, you could hear conversations in the other rooms. We paid $187 dollars for the room, a $100 dollar deposit refundable after they check the room the next day, and $10 for parking. We used a credit card at check in so it will be a couple of days before we are refunded. After the dirty room they should refund me more that $100. Do yourself a favor, go to the other side of town. Better hotels on that side.

This is my second time staying at the emerald and I was pretty disappointed with my visit—the only reason I booked this place was because I wanted my son to swim in the pool. He has autism and loves water and since the weather has not been good, I wanted to book specifically a hotel with an indoor pool. The first time I stayed at the hotel was lovely-my son had a lot of fun and it was overall a good trip so I figured, why not? It’s for his birthday. Upon arrival, I checked in, we bought pool toys, floaties and everything so we can have a fun pool day and the second we step in the cool, it was so cold to the point my son could not swim in it. Weird because the pool rules indicate water temps would be 80-85. I ended up letting hotel staff about the situation and they seemed puzzled and did not do anything about this. So we decided to visit the hot tub and it was so filthy. The water was BROWN and murky and there was patches of hair in it. When I alerted hotel staff, they cleaned it out but no further explanation was given to me about the cold pool. My stay was disappointing and I will probably not stay here anymore, I spent $150 and did not even enjoy my stay. At least the beds were comfy? I’ll give them that. But it was hard to get comfortable with the musty carpet smell.

No Hot Water?

There was no hot water in any of the rooms We started in 203 and the water bearing got tolerable to stant in. Moved to 213 which was supposedly closer to the heater next door at the Holiday Inn. No better.

Clean room but that was about it

The good: The room was clean and comfortable. The bad: The back door by the pool was open when I arrived; no towels so I had to call for them; NO WIFI (are you kidding me?); at 4:19AM the alarm went off for about 10 minutes which gave people enough time to fully wake up, get dressed and go outside just as the alarm went off.

We LOVE Emerald Beach. Ron’s are clean and comfy, staff are always willing to help. I just wish that y’all would open the outside bar up or do something more lively. Such a beautiful hotel!

2nd stay here. This time we were in the “cabana” as the staff referred to it. There was limited to no hot water the 4 nights we stayed. No extra rolls of toilet tissue or towels. The view was great, but the sliding door was open when we arrived. The parking was good, but we did have someone take 2 fishing poles from our vehicle the first night there. Breakfast was coffee and breads or bagels. We emptied our own trash and it was picked up outside the door one of the 4 days there. The last night we stayed we took it to the garbage cans ourselves. To be transparent we are typically pretty easy to please- this was not the experience we had here the first stay. We will be looking at other options for our next stay. I did fail to mention our last night stay dogs barked all night and doors slammed- probably because they wouldn’t shut with ease.

the hotel is in disrepair. missing tiles in the ceiling, exposed pipes in the rooms, no hot water and NO HELP! I spoke with the front office multiple times about the issues and no one ever did a thing. Tried to speak with the manager who rarely ever shows up on the property. Asked for a discount which was implied would be given, but when I received my receipt, no discount. Tried to contact the manager for 1 month after my stay to no avail. It is now 2 months past my stay and I still have not heard from the manager. This is a very pricey hotel for the condition it is in. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE.
