The breakfast waffles are not the kind you make yourself; they are the dry, tasteless toaster version. The rest of the breakfast offerings were minimal. In the room, the air conditioner is designed to be at floor level. Instead it is placed above your head, with the controls facing the ceiling. To adjust, you need to stand on a chair and use a flashlight. I never understand why breakfast must close at exactly 9 am when the check out isn't until 11. We're on vacation; no need to get up early. Would not stay there again.

Average place..
It was an average stay, the place was not extremely anything. Central to the town, close to many things, the lady who checked us in was nice. Older place.
The property itself was good, slapped in the middle of downtown Custer, the issue was the staff, they kept calling me about random stuff, at first it was Ok but then it just started to get annoying.
Clean and spacious rooms and the staff at the desk and in the lodge were very courteous and helpful. Location is very convenient for everything happening around Custer and the Crazy Horse memorial and Mt Rushmore too . Watch for wildlife on the roads . Thx
If you plan on riding the Mickelson Trail, the Econo Lodge is a perfect location thats very convenient. They prepared hard boiled eggs on the morning of our rides.
The staff was very nice and friendly. The only negatives were the lack of an elevator and the dirty carpets in the hallway, but breakfast was good. The hotel is near a shopping center, stores, and restaurants.
