This is an older property and it does show some wear and tear, but it’s in a great location. 5 minute walk to the beach, great options for food nearby. Comfort level was medium, the staff that I interacted with were attentive and friendly. Good price point for what’s around the area.

Avoid!

The place is a glorified rundown hotel made to look like some sort of a cute beach resort. I checked in to my room and after walking in, discovered that it was like walking into a dog's mouth. The bed look like a hammock and the bathroom look like a CSI murder scene. Disgusting stains all over the wall and hair in the corner of the bathroom. I almost threw up. I walk back downstairs and cheerfully asked for my money back. The front desk agent said no and that it would be the problem of the third party. I said that I had only been there for 35 or 40 seconds. Just long enough to realize how just filthy and disgusting this place was. I asked her if she would do the right thing and refund me my money or if she would like a review of my experience? I'd be happy to give that. Otherwise this isn't going to go well for anyone. She told me there was nothing she could do and off I went on my merry way. Avoid at all cost. This place is disgusting.

Nice hotel and super cool that it’s close to stone steps beach. Walking distance and that beach is not crowded during summer. I’ve stayed here twice already during work travel. 8/10. Train is loud in the mornings when it passes by. Other than that, it’s nice to stay there.

Awesome interactions with front desk staff. Easy check-in with emotional support pet. Exterior of building looks a bit worn out and hallway carpet a bit dingy but room was near and clean. The a/c unit was excellent to keep room cool. Would definitely book again when traveling with furry companion.

Not happy that after we got all unpacked and settled for a 4 night stay, found TV had " No signal." Sat Desk check in person checked with COX who could not fix till klTuesday. (holiday weekend." Great shower. Easy walk to beach through the neighborhood, but a giant staircase to get down to the beach so be ready. Room was clean bed very firm. They could use new pillows. The towels were terrible super thin cheap motel like. Otherwise room has everything you need. They do need to clean under the platform bed as there was a whole bunch of debris underneath it and somebody’s old sock. Or just don’t look under the bed. Convenient location. Coffee shop very close and the Hamburger Hut. City center to Encinitas is a bit of a walk. If you’d like to walk. All rooms are accessed from the interior so that is good, but the halls/doors show a lot of wear and tear. Anyways, overall we liked the place felt like a surfer hotel, kind of.
