A patchwork blanket flowing down to the shimmering surface of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance, the sweeping panoramic views of the Algarve countryside at O Ninho are one of the best that we offer in Portugal. Approached along a narrow lane and set within private grounds with its two sister properties, this hillside dwelling is a delight. Whether you are relaxing by the pool, enjoying a cool drink on one of the terraces or savouring the orange and reds of an eye catching sunset, the scenery before you is ever present.
The main entrance, reached via steps, leads through to the first floor where one is greeted by an unfussy interior with subtle décor, terracotta flooring and well-proportioned spaces. Two south facing bedrooms share an upper covered terrace, an ideal place for enjoying a favourite read while taking in those majestic views. The principal double bedroom benefits from an en suite shower room and an outlook of the pool and beyond, with a further separate shower room completing the first floor make-up. For guests’ comfort and convenience, air conditioning is provided in all bedrooms.
The ground floor is shared by an attractive fitted kitchen, with access to the lower terrace, a spacious living/dining room, also with access to the lower terrace and a further shower room.
The swimming pool sits to the side of the lower terrace, with attractive Santa Caterina tilling surround, ample space for sun-bathing and a convenient barbecue ideal for making and enjoying meals al-fresco.
A short drive (1.7km) brings you to a local restaurant and mini-market. Local attractions include the pretty village of Estoi (4.5km), renowned for its stunning rococo Palácio, now an upmarket hotel open to visitors to enjoy its lovely gardens and beautiful Portuguese Azulejos. As ever on the Algarve, sun-drenched beaches are never far away, with Fuzeta (16km), and Faro (16km) being the closest. Further afield the picturesque towns of Loulé (24km), and Tavira (25km), are a must visit and for days out, an enjoyable time can be had exploring the islands on the Ria Formosa.
