Fantastic location with views over Funchal. The apartment was comfortable and exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed for our holiday. Check in process was seamless with someone awaiting our arrival. Host very responsive to any queries we had. As mentioned in other reviews it was on a steep hill but we expected that so was no problem for us. Supermarket and Funchal only 10 minute walk away.

House with great views over Funchal

Well equipped house with great views over Funchal. It had everything you need including a large garage. Good size rooms. Beds were a bit hard though. Shower heads need replacing as it was like using a hose pipe. The house is on a steep hill in case you are on foot so be aware. Ana was helpful and quick to respond to our queries.

The arrival and check in was ok, the location was good but tricky to park as the garage was unavailable and one of the bathrooms was in the garage. There was no tea or coffee on arrival and we were hoping to have a cuppa on arrival. Work was being carried out throughtout our stay so no chance of relaxing. That said rhe location was beautiful. Although there was a washing machine there was no powder provided and the smallest box in the supermarket would have lasted us a month. Beautiful location and very clean

Amazing view

Good size apartment/house with an amazing view to Funchal. There was an issue with the hot water but was resolved within two days. Very clean and comfortable.

Good Choice

Joao was a great host. Our flight was late arriving in Madeira, we arrived at Joao's place at 3am. and had no issues accessing the house. Joao had left everything arranged for our late arrival. The property was clean and spacious in nice overall condition, it is well situated on a hill with a nice view overlooking the harbour and the city and also close to a Continent grocery store. The property has a large garage for anyone renting a car. It is a short walk to the center of Funchal, it could be tiring walking back home if you are not much of a walker, but that was not an issue for us since we like to walk. Overall we were happy with our choice and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Funchal.

Good house in a great location

Spacious house with lovely big terrace only 10 minutes walk from bars, restaurants, supermarket, the old town and tour pick up points. Up a steep hill but worth it for the view over Funchal.

La casa es muy cómoda con una vista hermosa, caluroso debido a la época del año y la localidad, sin embargo un lugar muy acogedor para quedarse y disfrutar de la isla, recomendado para quien desee alojarse en las cercanías de funchal. Debido al calor del verano seria bueno que la casa tenga aire acondicionado, sería un plus increíble. De resto cero quejas. Recomendadisimo.

Beautiful apartment, stunning view

My brother and I stayed here for a week and had an incredible time. The apartment is spacious & clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the old town. Yes, the hill is steep, but the view is worth it! We would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Funchal.

A perfetta stay

Very spacious and panoramic apartment. Near all amenities, shops and supermarket. The owner and his sister in law helped us for any necessity. Very nice people indeed. Just a bit tiring to climb and reach the apartment, which is in the upper part of Funchal, but this is Madeira ....

great villa with fantastic view!

This villa is a great space. It is very clean comfortable well furnished.It has two excellent showers; comfortable beds and has a fabulous position slightly up on the hill so the views over Funchal from the outside space are fantastic! It was a perfect base to explore the island and a lovely comfortable place to just chill. 5 mins walk to some nice eating places.There was excellent communication prior our stay and his sister in law kindly came to rescue us when we were lost on our first day! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Funchal.

Nice property in a great location

We stayed here with our 2 children (nearly 4 and 2). The house is in a great location - it's just a few minutes walk down into the main areas with restaurants, sites etc. It's a good size with all amenities. The parking works well - plenty of space for a car which isn't guaranteed in central Funchal. Kitchen is well stocked though lacks a tin opener! The owner is really friendly. He doesn't speak much English but has a friend who does, so that side of things was great. There's a fantastic view over central Funchal. You can see where the big cruise ships dock which the kids really enjoyed seeing. We had a great time in this house and in Madeira!

Great location and spectacular view

We stayed here for approximately two weeks while searching for a long-term lease in Funchal. João kindly booked an airport transfer for us and our small dog. The apartment was clean and spacious, with a spectacular private balcony. The price seemed very fair for Funchal, and quite amazing for us from the US. Walking to the center of town was pleasant and easy, with only a very short (but somewhat steep) uphill stretch on the way back home. La Vie (a very nice mall) is a few blocks away and is basically on the way to or from anywhere – there you can find a full grocery store on the lowest floor. João kindly tolerated my poor Portuguese, and when we needed anything beyond what his English or my Portuguese would allow we could call his assistant Carmo, who spoke wonderful English. We would gladly stay there again!
