My only complaint is that the room was very hot and we were not able to control the heat at all from the thermostat. We had to open the window in middle of an ice storm. Also, the Sky Bar had really terrible service and an automatic gratuity is added to your bill, and their Happy Hour special only applies to very select items. We ended up spending so much money there while only having two drinks each, with “free drink” vouchers which also didn’t apply to anything other than a certain size of wine and a certain draft beer. Skip the sky bar.

This is a very well-managed hotel. The employees stay off their phones and are courteous and attentive. The rooms are clean and comfotable. The location is convenient is in the historical distance and about a 25 minute walk to the cool part of Gdansk, by the shipyards. No complaints at all.

Low rating is because the bed and pillows made sleeping comfortably very difficult, but because of the noise from the pub out side which went on until 00.00 on the Friday and 1am on the Saturday there wasn’t much chance of sleep before that anyway. I guess that is the down side of a central location, but they could soundproof the windows a bit better.

Initial check-in was smooth, but things went downhill once I reached my room. I had booked a queen bed, but the room I was given had two single beds. When I went back to reception to explain the issue, the receptionist was quite rude, tried to blame me for the mistake, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience for asking for the room type I’d actually paid for. I was told I could switch rooms the next day, but this was inconvenient and disrupted my stay. The noise was also quite bad — if you’re a light sleeper, definitely avoid a courtyard-view room. Overall, the experience wasn’t great, and I probably wouldn’t stay here again.
