Don't Do It

When we arrived to our room there was a bit of water on the floor area of the bathroom and vanity area. I thought that maybe they just cleaned and it was damp from the mop. In the middle of the night I went to the bathroom and it was about a quarter inch deep amount of water that was coming up through the floor. We contacted the office and they said the manager would be in around 10 am. Finally when she came she said she would have to determine if we needed a different room or not which I found odd seeing as though there was water all in the floor. We literally had to wait on maintenance to come and say that we could move to a different room. The maintenance guy even asked well how much longer are you gonna be here as if he just wanted us to ride it out. I just completed a cross country trip across the US and not one problem. Come to Greenwood Baymont and it was awful.

Our room had a bed that was fumigated with the smell of human pee and feces so much had to get another blanket and then it was so nasty we had to check out early and it had bigs everywhere in the room Absolutely DISGUSTING!

Wish I could go back and time and stayed elsewhere

Despite decent online ratings (7.5/10 overall, 8.0/10 for my room type), my experience was terrible. Upon entering, I immediately noticed a strong musty smell and excessive humidity despite the AC running. The bathroom floor felt slick and left dark residue on my bare feet - absolutely disgusting. This residue was also on the carpet throughout the room, making it sticky to walk on. I wish i'd bought some flip-flops to walk in, but i didn't. I requested a room change but was told they were "fully booked" on a Thursday evening. However, the front parking lot had only 3 cars, and even when i checked out early the next morning, occupancy appeared well below capacity. Only 2 other guests were at the 7:20am breakfast, which consisted of basic cold items (cereal, toast, bagels) with minimal hot options. The front desk staff was polite, but the room conditions were unacceptable. The humidity and cleanliness issues mentioned in other reviews are real problems that management needs to address. For the slightly higher price compared to nearby options, you'd expect basic cleanliness standards to be met. Bottom line: Save your money and book elsewhere. The musty smell and dirty floors made for an uncomfortable stay that no amount of savings can justify unless you are really desperate. i never write reviews, but i rely on them immensely when booking, which is why i felt compelled to leave one for this stay.

Needs work and oversight

The tooth brushing residue still sprayed on the mirror was disgusting! The carpet was dirty and the handle on a dresser drawer was missing a screw and one side hung down. The stairs to the second floor on my end of the building were taped off as was the end room upstairs. Not sure what that was about. Seems like a lot of neglect and an overhaul is due.

Picked the hotel to have a pool. Checked in and was told pool should be open and later was told it was closed for the day. Wanted to see about canceling to go somewhere else but was stuck due to the fact we walked into the room. Put a bad taste for the property for me. The staff was very polite and professional.
