I book hotels that have a gym or use of a gym. This helps me after working all day and being away from home. This hotel said it has use of a gym so on that I booked it. On arrival I was told the gym has been closed for refurbishment, at no point before booking was I told this as I wouldn’t have booked it if I knew

Good hotel

On arrival at 2.00 pm (check in time), we were told our room wouldn’t be ready until between 3.00 and 4.00 due to a football team staying the night before! They said we were welcome to use hotel facilities. Receptionist was polite and apologetic. We decided to have a walk into town and then check in later. Room was large with usual facilities. Bed was quite hard, so not that comfortable, if you prefer something softer. Great shower. Very good breakfast, plenty of choice of hot and cold items, drinks etc. There is parking at hotel but limited. Overall would recommend.

Pillows and quilt really soft. Room clean. Staff helpful. Parking is limited and £10 overnight after 6pm (at 5.15pm it was 15 quid!!) Only issue i had was room 125 is facing a train shunting yard so heard trains moving all night

Lovely warm, cosy hotel. Comfy beds. Cosy bar area with snooker table. Breakfast was fantastic. Excellent location - short walk to train station and to town centre. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel

Great location close to railway station. Staff all really helpful but reception was slow with there always being a queue. Only issue I had was with noisy guests returning from a night out and shouting at each other in the car park.

Comfortable bed, quiet during the night and helpful staff. Nice bar/lounge area. The coffee served at breakfast was so weak I didn't drink it and one of the mugs in the room was a bit dirty. Despite that, I'd stay there again.

Fourth time i have stopped at this hotel and all good, and will stop again. 5 mins into town centre, 3 mins to the train station and 10 mins to Portman Road. Bar is well stocked, only thing is car park is small so be prepared to park somewhere else if arriving late.
