Talo sydämessä historiallisessa keskustassa Lissabon, seinien sisällä São Jorgen. Jossa voit tuntea kaupungin pulssista, mutta samalla kontrastia hiljaisuuden ja rauhallinen elämän linnan aluetta. Täällä naapurit tuntevat toisensa, ja on niin paljon tarinoita kerrottavanaan. Meta keskustelu heidän kanssaan, ovat aina valmiita kertomaan hieman historiaa naapurustossa.
Se on naapuruston et koskaan unohda sen kaduilla, ihmisten ja perinteensä.

Die Lage der Ferienwohnung war prima, mitten in der Altstadt unterhalb des Kastells. Tagsüber war wegen der Nähe des Kastells viel Betrieb, abends war es sehr ruhig, fast idyllisch. Die Wohnung war liebevoll eingerichtet und auch gut ausgestattet, um sich selbst zu versorgen und selbst zu kochen. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin über Messenger war unkompliziert und freundlich. Die Bettwäsche war leider nicht sauber. Nachdem wir dies bemängelt hatten, wurde diese innerhalb weniger Stunden von der Vermieterin anstandslos gewechselt.Allerdings ist das Mobiliar ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Die Sofas waren ziemlich durchgesessen und das weiße Sofa war zudem sehr fleckig, der Toilettensitz war nicht richtig festgeschraubt, sodass er seitlich wegrutschte.Was uns jedoch schockierte, war die absolut eklige Matratze, die voller Flecken war und die wir erst sahen, als wir kurz vor der Abreise Bettdecken und Laken abzogen, um es der Reinigungskraft etwas einfacher zu machen.Ich glaube nicht, dass ich mich in dieses Bett gelegt hätte, wenn ich es zu Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes gesehen hätte!Hier muss die Vermieterin unbedingt in neues Mobiliar und vor allem in eine neue Matratze investieren!

Lovingly decorated home. Well equipped and stocked kitchen. We made good use of the washing machine and drying rack. Bed was quite comfortable. The home is essentially at the top of the city which means you go downhill to everything. There is a bus stop not too far away.It is an active and lively neighborhood.The host was very responsive.

Great apartment in a great location

We absolutely loved staying in the heart of Alfama. We got to know the twists and turns of the streets, had quick and easy access to all of the great sites, especially the Castelo de S Jorge (roll out of bed and get there first to beat the crowd/line!). The apartment was perfect for all of our needs - a hot shower, comfortable bed and morning cafe around the corner! Highly recommend to anyone that is comfortable walking up hills and enjoys wandering.

Perfect location!

Our hosts were so enthusiastic and helpful we felt taken care of immediately! Yes it was a lot of walking but it was scenic and wonderful. We were there during a heatwave so that was a bit uncomfortable but not something that can be controlled so we went with it. Love Portugal!

Perfect little apartment with all you could possibly need in the kitchen.

We stayed for three weeks.It was great to be in the historical area of castle. Lisbon is easy to get around and we got fitter from having to walk up hill! We just loved it.

Perfect hideaway!!

We were scheduled to stay at Maria Castelo for 3 nights but loved it so much that we added an additional night and could have stayed forever. It is set in the middle of the town center but down a small street making it quiet and serene. It is beautifully decorated. Well appointed with everything you could possibly need. We arrived much later than expected and Magda and Diego were so supportive meeting us and introducing us to the home and area. They even sent numerous text messages throughout our stay with hints and advise on what to see and do. Wonderful! Cyndee and Doug

Perfect place to start our Portuguese adventure!

Great location for our small family of three, and nicely decorated. The suite is well appointed and feels tucked away but still close to everything with a small market and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Magda and Diogo are wonderful hosts with tonnes of info and tips to share which came in handy! We are looking forward to returning. We recommend this place to everyone but especially for a small family

Underwhelming Experience

We stayed at this property for 4 nights in August, but encountered many problems. Please find below a summary of some of the issues we encountered at this property: 1. The washing machine, which was advertised as one of 2 popular features, wasn't working! "It broke down yesterday" according to the owners on our arrival 2. The flat is very small and cramped, much smaller than envisaged from the "clever" photography on the web site. For example: - only around 1' either side of bed - had to breathe in to squeeze between wall and bed on either side - the bathroom door only half opens (it would hit the sink otherwise) 3. Noisy neighbours - loud music/TV playing until around 02:30am on 3 out of 4 evenings 4. Had to keep window shutters closed all day to prevent every passer-by on the busy pedestrianised street from peering directly into the apartment (at least some had the courtesy to wave as they did so) After 2 days of emails/texts (the owners live 40km away), we finally received a (filthy & old) replacement washing machine. The dark brown scum on the interior door seals refused to budge even after 3 complete wash cycles. The kitchen floor was also left slippery and damp when we returned to the apartment 4 hours later as the owner had forgotten to turn off the water supply before disconnecting the old machine. To compound matters, the owners charged us a significant penalty as we arrived after 8pm. Apparently, if you press every button on the web site, this additional charge is detailed...so please beware! The owner said, as he stood in the kitchen puddles, that he would consider recompensing us for the days without use of the advertised washing machine. Unfortunately, we never heard any more about this and the compensation remains outstanding.

It was good start to learn about Portugal

We felt like we came to our relatives house in Lisbon. The couple Magda and her husband are so friendly and welcoming! The apartment is charming, beautifully equipped and comfortable. The atmosphere of the castle makes this stay unusual. The only problem I had (it is my personal problem!) with noise from neighbors upstairs. The old building was converted to the residential house, and the sound isolation and the acoustic prevention were not good. But the charm of the place has compensated the inconvenience. Another great plus to this property was their partner, Joao. The guy is the real treasure; very reliable and helpful. I am happy that we met these people on our trip to Portugal; it added some taste to our impressions from the country.

A charmed retreat

Magda and Diogo's apartment was a delightful refuge after a long day of site seeing. Bright, warm and comfortable- it couldn't have been better placed for touring Lisbon. Two public elevators make the assent considerably easier. Ask about their location when considering this rental!

A great location, extremely well equipped, fresh and new decor, great welcome, perfect to see sights

A short taxi ride from the airport to the "hidden away" location up in the castle area, we were greeted warmly by the owners who have tried and succeeded to create a compact and bijou apartment just right for a city break in Lisbon. Easy walking to most of the sights ( although you need stout shoes for the cobbled streets) and right next door to the castle, A supermarket close by and lots of places to eat, drink and be entertained. Would recommend to my best friends.

Excellent apartment

Apartment is small but well designed, modern, ully equipped and immaculately presented. It makes a great getaway to Lisbon. The location is inside the castle st George's boundary and we found this a great spot for a short stay in Lisbon. The host could not have been more helpful.

Appartement trés agréable dans rue typique d'Alfama

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable dans cet appartement : jolie décoration tout en finesse. La cuisine est complètement aménagée, tout est prévu. La salle de bain est optimisée (sèche cheveux à disposition) et une vraie baignoire ! La chambre est lumineuse avec des fenêtres typiques. Impeccable au niveau propreté. L'appartement est situé dans une toute petite rue près du château St Georges... avis aux marcheurs ; n'oubliez pas les chaussures, ça monte ! Mais ça vaut le chemin. Il y a une petit supermarché à coté, ce qui est pratique. Et pour finir, Magda et Diogo : adorables et toujours à l'écoute. Présents par mails et textos tout au long de notre séjour !!!!!! Ils font tout pour faire aimer Lisbonne : ils parlent de leur ville, du tourisme, de la nourriture avec passion. Ils sont en train de commencer une nouvelle conception d'un appartement : nous leur souhaitons la même réussite. Nathalie et Olivier (Toulouse) - Octobre 2016
