We loved everything about our stay at Sibu Boutique hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel is very well maintained and thoughtfully designed. Monteverde can be very windy, however we had a finished balcony that was protected from the wind by glass, so it was easy to enjoy the outdoor space despite weather conditions. The restaurant was excellent, with a cooked to order breakfast included in your stay. Also included were beer, wine, drinks and snacks in our room. Literally everything we needed was taken care of.

The room was heavily scented in air freshener, but the staff corrected the issue to the best of their abilities. Sophia in the restaurant was outstanding! 5 stars for her service!!!

The whole place was one on the cleanest place ever stayed at. Staff was excellent-greeted you each day - made you feel welcomed- a luxury place in near the rain forest! Great!!

Lovely grounds but location was rough as it’s on a hill, roads are bad, parking is very limited. But the parking attendant was very helpful and friendly even though he didn’t speak English and we knew limited Spanish. The rooms were great and the best part (but on the smaller scale) - otherwise highly recommended. The restaurant service was horrible as they did not give coffee and tea for 20 minutes! Our food came out at 45 minutes after order was placed (just omelets and pancakes) and was cold! Other than 1 waitress, there was no one to talk to. When we spoke with the hotel manager, she said “oh! Is that so?” But did not apologize nor say it would be addressed. We just gave up and ate breakfast elsewhere in town for the next 2 days even though we had free breakfast option. So it is with ambivalence that we stayed at this hotel (for the cozy rooms and few nice people) but not for everything. If you want to be close to town, then this is a good place to make as your home base but be aware.
