Excellent location near MSG, Penn station and transit. Has some trouble with the door passkey and had to switch rooms because of it. Older hotel in good condition. Location in mid town made everything walkable.

Location is great. The hotel is old and not well maintained. theres no wifi I certain floors and rooms. This should've been disclosed prior to check in. The staff were all kind and respectful.

The location is great. The A,C,E train is right outside the door. This alone would make me come back. The art deco was awesome, and the room was pretty clean. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, and the heater/air conditioner was so loud. What really ruined my experience was the fact that they charge for a mini fridge. I was in town for a food festival and I had tons of left overs and goodies for my family. Never in 20 years of going to hotels have I been told there was a charge for a mini fridge. Not only was there a charge for a mini fridge, the charge was a ridiculous $50 a night. Maybe the mini fridge is a solar powered super efficient fridge that was brought in by aliens -- If it is, I'm sorry for my review, but if not? Yeah, awful. I did not pay the $50, because that's ridiculous. It should come with the room if asked. Instead, I walked a block and bought a cooler for $15 and packed it full of ice. At least Wyndham doesn't charge for ice.

I loved the ambience and original design. The staff were excellent and I was treated well. Our room was on an odd corner and our window was tiny, but it did have a great view. The beds were fine, but the pillows weren't supportive and there were not enough towels to get through three people for two nights.

The room is small but comfortable enough. There’s no fridge or microwave. It’s just a bedroom and bathroom with a desk, unlike most hotel rooms that have sitting areas, hallway, etc. I reserved the metro room view based on beautiful pictures posted of the city but my view was just Madison Square Garden.

I liked the fact that it was like a block and a half away from Madison Square Garden.....Amtrack Station. The New Yorker Hotel had a lot of the original bathroom amenities from when the hotel was built in 1929. The rest of our room was up to date...Quiet and we had two large windows with views of the skyscrapers lit up at night. We were on the 35th floor. It was marvelous!!

I recently stayed at this hotel. From the outside, it looks quite nice and the location is definitely convenient, especially for getting around the city. However, once inside the room, the experience was less than expected. The rooms are quite old, and the bathrooms feel outdated. They weren’t exactly dirty, but the overall cleanliness was just average. There was also a noticeable smell when stepping out of the room, likely coming from the old carpet in the hallway. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it was persistent throughout the stay. Overall, while the exterior and location are good, I personally found the rooms and general condition inside to be underwhelming and in need of refurbishment.
