Very bad staff at the front desk, did not had rooms available, didn’t care, the kid at the front desk was outside smoking and just told us no rooms available, very rude and did not care about. Still did not get my money back, they charges us for 2 rooms knowing they did not had anything available.

Dirty Disappointment

The hotel was broken down, dirty, outdated. Our room had holes in the walls and faucets coming out of the wall, beds were hard, sheets were worn and the tub was sketchy. It was very disappointing especially for the cost.

Motel from Hell, Motel 6 Newport

I have never had an experience as awful as my stay at Motel 6 Newport R I. To get to Newport on Public Transportation only to be told that my reservation was cancelled yesterday, by Motel 6. Then for me to beg for a room to sleep, only to get a room with no working TV and no refrigerator. The next day, the manager was nasty and hostile refusing to read the emails from Hotels.com or even listen to my explanations. She told me either I accept the room as is or she could refund my money back to me. I then called Hotels.com to complain about my problem. After my discussion with them, Motel 6 offered me a better room. All of this was so stressful and took a lot out of the fun experience this trip was supposed to be. I need some kind of compensation.

Horrible

This was a horrible experience. It began with coming into the check in area and the front desk woman was less than friendly. I told her I booked a room and once she took my name she just said “yeah that room is t available” and just stared at me. I politely said “okay well I’ve already paid for it so what can we do” she rolls her eyes and looks through the system for about 5 minutes. I pulled up my receipt and invoice to hand to her because I was growing impatient and SUDDENLY after seeing it there was a room for two queen beds for less money. I said “that’s totally fine but I paid more for the other room ao I’d like to be reimbursed.” Rolls her eyes again and tells me I’ll have to come down at checkout and “they’d help me” rather than just do it there and then. Once we got to the room I was horrified. The ceilings were dirty, walls were dirty, the towel rack in the bathroom was falling out of the wall. The shower was still wet and had no water pressure. The beds are creaky wire and paper thin. It smelled like mothballs and the room was disgusting. You get what you pay for I guess. I never was reimbursed and I didn’t sleep a wink. Horrible, do not stay here.

Gross and gives off bad vibes…

The lobby smells of must, cigarettes, and weed. The pictures of this property are deceiving. The entire place is disgusting. Looks like one washer and dryer for the entire hotels linens. The first room I was given was so dark and dank with one night light for the entire room. Switched to another room with minimal lighting, dirty refrigerator, shower, and dirty linens. I made my daughter and friend strip the bed down. Blankets had cigarette burns and stains. We slept on top of the sheets and used our own blankets we thankfully had. The towels for the room came damp and stained. The tub was dirty and so was the refrigerator. The place was also sketchy with signs telling you to park at your own risk. Abandoned cars in the lot with no plates. I felt badly staying here with my daughter’s. We are used to the old Cape Cod style hotels. So that’s not the issue. It’s all about lack of cleanliness. Huge bug on the wall near my daughter’s bed and they were afraid to sleep. Washing everything we brought immediately! Also the lock on the door from the inside for extra security was broken..

The beds had no blankets on them and we had to request them to bring them to the room. The room was very damp and our clothes became damp and had a smell to them. The floors were beyond dirty.
