From the time we reserved the property, the host reached out several times overly concerned that we were renting the property to host a party, even though I assured him we were a group ranging from age 4 to 84. I also told him that our reason for visiting Kissemee was to celebrate Christmas with our 94 year old aunt and her extended family, and this property was walking distance to the property they rented. We arrived and his car was parked in the middle of the driveway so we could barely get our car in the driveway to unpack. He did not leave the property until 9pm, 5 hours after check-in time. The house stunk from fish he cooked in the oven shortly before we arrived and the house was filthy. The carpeting was extremely dirty and once the fish smell was finally gone, it was replaced by a mildew smell coming from the carpet. The furnishings were very flimsy, sofas dirty, pee/poop on the bedding (we washed everything before using!) microwave not working, television remotes were missing, the list goes on. The entry/exits from the patio screen room were locked from the outside (only owner could unlock) which seems like a occupancy violation. It seems like he wanted us to get angry enough to leave but we stayed because the location was walking distance to the house the rest of our family rented and nothing else was available nearby (Christmas week). Also, one day we returned late to find the light on in the room he locked - another tactic we think he did to get us to leave.
