We loved this property! Great location in downtown Ottawa near Byward Market. Cute clean room with balcony. Very good breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend for an Ottawa experience.

The neighbourhood has gone badly downhill meaning frequent loud street noise in the middle of the night. not helped by the fact that the split system air units are very loud. Parking is for very small cars only. This should be noted.

A old but quaint and beautifully kept hotel right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Easy walk to Byward Market, the gorgeous parliament buildings, Rideau Centre, lots of food options, and a great little continental breakfast was included.

This property is in the heart of the city. It has a great market around the corner, many restaurants on its doorstep, and Parliament Hill is only a 13 minute walk. It includes a filling breakfast. The staff is attentive in keeping the rooms equipped with everything you need. My husband and I enjoyed our three night stay at the Byward Blue Inn.

Room is bright, spacious, clean and so was the bathroom. Balcony was a very special feature. Centrally located in downtown Ottawa, it is now my first choice hotel whenever I return. Reception and management were professional, extremely efficient and accommodating. This was an excellent experience.

Downtown meeting

I very much enjoyed the stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great. Sometimes it is a bit of a wait to get hot water from the tap, maybe because the hotel was less busy during this time. The location is mostly good. There are lots of excellent food options in the area. On the other hand, there are also a lot of people on the street in this part of Ottawa, some of whom are loud and aggressive, which is at least unpleasant. There was also significant noice from nearby nightclubs, especially on Saturday. If or when I come back, I would stay here again.

This is a charming hotel in a great location. Easy walk to Parliament and lots to check out in Byward market. Unique artwork through the hotel, and thoughtful touches in the room like a cold bottle of distilled water in your fridge and a bowl of real creamers and milk for your coffee. Breakfast was delicious and in a lovely room. The beds and pillows could use an upgrade, but otherwise it was perfect. Would recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at ByWard Blue Inn! The location is perfect—just steps away from the ByWard Market, making it easy to explore Ottawa’s best restaurants, shops, and attractions on foot. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, with thoughtful amenities that made a big difference, including cutlery, glasses, and plates right in the room. One of the highlights was the breakfast—plenty of delicious options, all fresh and well organized. It was a great way to start each day. Overall, the comfort, cleanliness, and convenient location made this hotel a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend!
