The hotel’s location is truly beautiful, with stunning views of the beach and surrounding nature - definitely a highlight of the stay. However, my experience with early check-in was disappointing. I paid extra for the 9 a.m. early check-in option, but upon arrival, I was told my room wasn’t ready. Understandable in the early morning, so I went for breakfast and then a swim to pass the time. By noon (over 3.5 hours later), I checked back with the front desk, only to be told the room still wasn’t ready but “soon.” I ended up waiting in the lobby for nearly four more hours before finally getting access to my room - around 4 p.m., which is regular check-in time. What made the situation frustrating was watching dozens of other guests (40+ by my count) check in, receive their keys, and head to their rooms while I sat waiting - despite having paid for early access. It seems there’s a lack of oversight in how early check-in is managed, and unfortunately, it left me feeling like the option is more of an upsell gimmick than a guaranteed service. The property itself is wonderful, but if you’re considering paying for early check-in, I’d recommend skipping it and just planning to arrive later in the day - or grab lunch nearby before heading to the hotel.

Loved the food options. 2 different pools, one with a lot of activities and one more quiet. The staff was outstanding. Big shout out to Gina, our server in the Cafe and Alba our hostess. Drivers Heiner and Nelson made our transportation around the resort personable and enjoyable. We were treated as friends rather than guests. The head concierge Josue was attentive to our every need and the ultimate professional.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Secrets! The views are incredible and the staff are lovely. We enjoyed our Oceanfront room, however, there is quite a bit of noise transfer from outside and other rooms. The room was clean and beautiful! The pools were amazing and the drinks were great! Great entertainment and music. This was our first time staying at a Secrets resort and we would definitely return.

Property overall was really nice. Great tropical aesthetic, landscaping well taken care of and pools nicely designed. The rooms though could have been nicer. They’re nice but quite small and not sealed off from outside apparently. I was stung by a scorpion on my first night and response for this should have been faster. They just gave us free massages for the inconvenience.

When it rained the roof in our room leaked pouring water into living, we were told that they had made several attempts to impair this, but that it's still leaked every time a heavy rain came. The staff left towels and buckets from when it rained to the end of our stay. It was not a $1500 a night room because water pouring in.
