The check in process went well. You have to leave your key at the front desk each time you leave the hotel which we found odd. Everything you enter you have to give your room number and receive your key again. The hotel is about a 13 min walk from the metro station, which is convenient. My husband found women’s hair rolled into a ball in his clean towel (this was not mine). There is no safe, which is a must when traveling (passports and extra cash). We were supplied with one bottle of water in the room when we checked in. I assumed they would replenish it daily but they did not.

Hotel is pretty much what we expected. This hotel gives you all of the European charm you could want! The rooms are small, that's the way they built them so many years ago. What we originally thought was a closet turned out to be the bathroom. We are not small people, just normal for older american people, but we made everything work and we had a great time. We want the European feel and definitely got it. The hotel is clean, staff is alway pleasant and helpful, the included breakfast was really good, always the same, but the variety made it easy to enjoy something different all the time. The elevator is small but it's there and it works for 2-3 people at a time.

Hotel is located midway between L'arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. There's plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. There's also a small grocery store just steps down the street. Very convenient and friendly staff.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Pastel and I absolutely love it! The decor is so beautiful, and the staff are very polite. I even got an upgrade this time to a beautiful junior suite, which was amazing because it was my birthday trip. I love that there’s so many cute restaurants around and Trocadéro is not that far within walking distance. I will definitely continue to stay here whenever I come to Paris.

The sink drain and shower drain were both clogged, so the water rose a lot. Our key stopped working so we had to go back, wait for the receptionist to help us. Giving the key back is pretty annoying in my opinion.
