Property Description Misrepresentation
Neither the property listing description nor the accompanying photographs disclosed that the house is semi-detached. Had we been aware of that, we would never have booked the property because of potential privacy and security concerns. Upon our arrival at the property, a car belonging to the guests staying in the adjoining house was parked in our driveway despite the access to that house and parking being independent of that for the house booked by us. That night a 2nd car with other people associated with the guests staying next door arrived and again parked in our driveway. The next day we raised this with the property manager he was not apologetic for the misleading description. Instead he claimed that there had never been a problem with it in the past and no one has raised any concerns about it. We asked the property manager to provide us with another comparable stand-alone property but he said that it was peak holiday season & he didn't have anything else available & wouldn’t be able to find another comparable house with any other agent. Nor would he provide us a refund so that we could try & find an alternative house. Feeling trapped, we accepted his goodwill offer of a meal at a local restaurant. The property manager also instructed the guests next door to remove the cars and use the independent access and parking designated for the adjoining property. During the night we could hear the guests staying next door talking, playing music and moving furniture.
