Man on desk polite. Surprised when told our room was in another building, next to hotel. Freezing cold initially as heater just coming warm. Strange smell in the room, however clean sheets and fresh towels available. Room needs painting as lots of marks everywhere. Tea and coffee avaiable in the room. Very basic room, probably right for the money we paid. Would not stay again

The hotel part we stayed in was ok the grounds could do with tidying up parking was fine the chap on the desk was really good helped us find somewhere to get food it's a bit dated but clean and a comfy bed so all in all it was good

Whilst I agree with some of the reviews that the hotel is a little dated and could do with some updating, I was more than happy with my stay for the money. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room I was given was big, clean and very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were provided. As a lone female traveler I would have no issue with staying here again.

The Hotel was easy to locate and room was comfy. Not properly cleaned to an excellent standard. No Rubbish Bin in the room, only 1 tiny one in the bathroom. Heating was good. Lighting was great. Severely regret giving this place a try. The hotel looks far more run down than the photos suggest. Room was boiling hot with no radiator control. Carpet covered in bumps from bits of twig and also cigarette burns that must pre-date the 2007 smoking ban. Stains and mould on walls. Bathroom door had to be barged open past ill-fitting bath panel. Big tears in bathroom floor and beds. Insects in coffee making area. Found a beetle / bed bug in my wine later and didn’t sleep in the bed. Paper-thin walls meant my neighbour’s TV kept me awake and woke me up at 5am. Lots of little things that say ‘we just don’t care’! Have had far better stays in other local hotels.

Lovely experience

Very clean and quiet room. Because I had mobility issues and couldn't climb stairs, the host went out of his way to find me a ground floor room. Free tea, coffee, milk and sugar in the room and clean bathroom.

Large groundfloor room. Large house with an interesting history. Very reasonable rate. Close free parking in the grounds. Friendly, helpful staff. However, perhaps there is a water pressure problem as I couldn't get hot water to flow fron the electric shower. Also, the grounds need attention as a bit overgrown in places.

Lovely hotel

The hotel was very clean and tidy the rooms were very clean abit on the small side but for a couple was excellent the bed was comfortable and very clean with clean towels in the bathroom all so a nice touch was little soaps and body wash for you to use the staff were helpful in showing us how to use the main door with the key card and showed us to the room i will probably use this hotel again

1st Room was wery in need of basic maintenance, there were holes in the bed frame walls and toilet seat had no nuts attached to it, room was dirty and had no heating controls so was very hot all night and had to sleep with the window open, found a cockroach on the 2nd night and moved to a slightly better family room after inspecting all the available twin rooms still this room wasn't as clean as a hotel should be, bad smells in the corridor and general dirtyness everwhere, I've stayed in some grotty hotels before but this one was probably the worst on,
