I had a very mixed experience with this property, and was debating whether to give 3 stars or 4 stars. The final check-out process was very inappropriate, which sealed the 3 star rating.
The hotel itself, the pools, and the beach are beautiful. However, the hotel is managed poorly from a resources, staffing and details standpoint.
Problems encountered REGULARLY:
No plates at the buffets.
No cups or bowls frequently at the buffets.
Out of silverware/utensils at lunch buffet near pool.
Left us 1 washcloth (face cloth) for 5 people in our room.
On one of the days, left only 2 bath towels.
Several times ALL toilet stalls at the beach bathroom NO toilet paper.
One bartender and long lines for drinks.
Understaffed in general.
At check-in (5pm) our room wasn't ready and we had to wait 45 mins in the lobby after a long travel day with kids. Expedia sent a survey asking how check-in went, and I gave a mediocre review on the survey. I was later contacted by the hotel who was irritated by my survey response.
At check-out, the agent asked for my personal phone to check for a "survey". I watched as he searched my phone for that prior check-in survey, he then selected 5 stars, and handed me the phone and told me to finish the survey in front of him and that they "needed to take a picture of my completed survey for Expedia to complete check-out".
This obviously is not needed, and it was completely inappropriate for him to select 5 stars before handing me my phone. UNACCEPTABLE.
