Expected better

The staff was amazing and I typically love this property. I've been coming here for staycations for over a decade without any complaints. My room this time felt like they put me in the last available one because I was willing to pay. The AC was broken in the middle of summer, and they were doing construction all around my room. I had to sleep with bags of ice surrounding me because they said they had no other rooms available. It felt very different from any time I've stayed there. The cold water didn't work either and the bathtub was completely plugged.

The place was very clean. My husband and son complained that the beds were hard, but I thought they were great. Despite our room being right off of a busy road, we really didn’t hear much traffic noise. Was quiet in the rooms too. We stayed in the garden rooms, which appeared to be the oldest part of the hotel, but were still very nice. Could use some signs to clearly indicate how to get to the garden rooms from the lobby. We got lost and later found another couple that was lost in the exact same spot we had gotten lost in, which was right past the meeting rooms/piano. 😂 We were going the right way but had no idea that we were. The staff was very friendly. We picked this hotel because of its location to many of the pickup places for some tours we were going on and because it had an outdoor pool. The pool was great and seemed to have been heated. There were also hot tubs and another pool that was both inside and outside. Only downside for us was the high cost of food in the hotel’s restaurants. Pretty common. The food was good and there was a lot of food, but we are light eaters, so we paid for and wasted a lot of food. Just wish there were some lighter things to purchase at the hotel, like sandwiches and chips. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance and that is what we did for the majority of our meals. Would definitely stay there again. Great value for the money.

Happy 30th Anniversary!

Fantastic in every way! We were going to stay in Provo, but we are glad we drove the additional miles to come here. We’ve stayed at the Grand America Hotel, but this is every bit as nice. They gave us an upgrade to a luxury tower room … wow was it nice! The coffee shop is also wonderful. We absolutely would stay here again!
