Beautiful Hotel

Overall an excellent stay! I will be returning. The only issue I had was service for from the airport to the ferry. My guest arrived early prior to the entire group. They shuttle to the ferry and charged me an extra fee. My guest wasn’t aware that they would be charged. It wasn’t brought to our attention until after we left the hotel. Other than that I love the hotel and staff.

Alaia is a stunning property and with a few tweaks could be exceptional. First we arrived to a stained vanity that was full of ants. They were kind enough to send someone to spray but over the days we were there still ants. The bedding was pretty flimsy and someone needs to pay better attention to the restrooms by the pool. Outside of that gorgeous property, excellent service, and food was delicious.

The property and rooms were well maintained and quite beautiful. Food was excellent. The noise from the pool and bar area was much louder than we desired. However, it quieted down in the evening and did not interfere with our sleep. That said, our preference would be the sound of the breeze over the poolside music.

The hotel was filthy in Places. breakfast was slow and confusing. restaurant ran after us and came all the way to our room with an CC machine for breakfast instead of just adding it to the tab as its customary

Stayed 6 nights at the Alaia Resort in Belize. The place is beautiful, extremely friendly staff and the food was much better than your typical Caribbean resort. Had dinner at all 3 restaurants that offered dinner and they did not disappoint. The resort had a different themed activity for each night that enhanced our stay. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we will definitely return to the Alaia Resort in Belize

Sorry, I will be a little unusual in my reviews. The Alaia, even though a part of the renown brand Marriott, is not worth the money that you pay for the “all inclusive” package. The food is just ok, the list of beverages is very limited, no entertainment during the day(boooring!) and the entertainment at night is limited to musicians and DJs. The musicians are talented we found, but guests don’t really care about them. Anyway, we found the experience underwhelming to say the least. Kudos to Shakira, Blanca, Eric y Rolando for going the extra mile to make you feel special.
