Great location!

Loved this spot! It was the perfect location for shopping and only a few blocks to the beach. The room was clean, and the staff was super attentive. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was a construction zone. Lots of walking up and down stairs and check in lobby was in another building. No idea that this was going to be the case. I nearly tripped and fell multiple times on rugs that were not flat to the ground surface. Was a weird stay.

Reported that phone and TV in the room were not working.... twice, but nithing was done. Overall access to the hotel main entrance and lobby is v poor. Front of the hotel is a pedestrian only area, so not possible to pull up and unload luggage etc. Lobby is temporary as main lobby is being renovated/relocated. Access to upper floors is via the fire escape stairs, or you need to walk to the rear valet entrance and use a very old and slow elevator. They're working on improving all of this, and did allude to the construction ahead of time, but it was way more disruptive than expected.

Great Choice

We chose this hotel for its proximity to a wedding celebration, and it was the perfect location. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was outstanding. Interacting with the front desk and valet staff was a pleasant experience, and their hospitality made our stay enjoyable. Overall, a great choice for convenience and service.

Hotel was under going major renovations — which we weren’t made aware of until AFTER booking. The room, hallways, and surrounding areas were very nice, however the construction made it a hassle to get around — especially with luggage. They put our car in valet parking and took our keys like a valet service, but did nothing but hand our keys back to us when we went to pickup our car and then looked at me like they expected a tip. I had to run out in the rain to even get the employees attention! Beautiful hotel but the experience there was a disappointment.

I prefer this location for business meetings when I'm in Santa Barbara. It is upscaled, clean, and has friendly staff. It is priced a little higher than preferred but within walking distance of my meeting.

The hotel is newly updated, rooms are new and nicely appointed - well decorated. The lobby is still under construction as of 2/10/25. This is inconvenient. Location is amazing, on the south end of State Street - many many restaurants, bars, shops within easy walking distance. The windows in the hotel don't open. Our room was small and felt a bit claustrophobic, since the windows won't open. Santa Barbara is so beautiful, it's an annoyance that the windows don't open. Parking is only by valet, which is also annoying, with a frequent need to get the car, tip the valet, turn the car back in. This is probably typical of valet only hotels, so maybe to be expected. So overall an amazing location, updated, but we likely wouldn't stay there again.
