This property was under construction which we knew. But they completely misled us on how much the hotel was impacted. It should hardly have been open for business. We were in a complete construction zone! There should have been a cocktail hour or some sort of compensation or acknowledgement of the rough conditions. But the front desk staff was unfriendly and our room did not get made up while we were there. We were sorely disappointed.

This is a nice property and a great location! Being near nightlife, it’s a lot louder than we had anticipated . The valets were super friendly and helpful as was the front desk staff the first night we arrived. Customer service was pretty variable after that and we are not high maintenance people. We appreciated the unlimited cold unfiltered, water and the reusable water bottles. They use lather bathroom products, which are amazing. Our room was not made up or supplied with fresh linens during our stay, which wasn’t a big deal, but we also ran out of cups to use, coffee, and tea. We would probably stay there again for the location and the quality of the rooms.

We stayed two nights with the construction going and it was not great. We had been notified that there was remodeling being done but that the rooms were done and just the lobby was still being worked on. Yes our 4th floor room was done yet the rooms on the entire third floor were being painted and work was still going on on floors 1 and 2. Odor, dust and noisy. Sorry but management should have waited to rent out these rooms.

When we arrived the hotel was under construction, no direct access from parking to hotel entrance, no parking for large vehicles, the construction started in the army hours in the morning, not allowing us to get rest. There was loud banging and construction equipment that was being used during early hours in the morning time.

This hotel is fantastic! In spite of the fact that the lobby was undergoing renovations, it did not affect or stay. The staff is outstanding. We were allowed an early check-in, and the check-out time was 12:00pm. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to have softer pillows. It is at a great location with easy access to restaurants, stores, cafes, etc. It is also near the train station, if you travel by train, which we did. Highly recommend.

We stay here whenever we are in Santa Barbara. The hotel is beautiful and historic. Customer service is always top notch. They're dog friendly and valet parking is only $30 a night. We're always happy to stay here.

Don’t let the construction fool you

The hotel is under construction but the rooms have been newly updated and are bright, clean and comfortable. The location is great and the little touches like a birthday wine surprise and complimentary reusable water bottles really made the stay special! The best part is we could bring our dog and they provided complimentary beds and bowls and treats. No pet fee also!

Regardless of being under construction, this property was very clean cozy with a very friendly stuff. The location is just what you need in Santa Barbara. It’s little confusing to find the entrance because the building is under construction. And Valley parking makes it easy if you drive your own vehicle to Santa Barbara.

They were doing construction on the hotel inside and out. The elevator was not working and outside of hotel had scaffolding and the banging of construction was annoying. It would have been nice to offer a discount due to the inconvenience, but nothing was offered.
