This was our first time at Shoreline Island. I was very pleasantly surprised. From the outside at first look it just looks like all the other older hotels but it is definitely not! The staff were very kind and friendly, especially Patty! The rooms are really nice and clean. They provided everything including laundry soap(our room had a washer/dryer in room). The pool is wonderful as are all the grounds of the hotel. They have a great bbq area for guests and plenty of tables and chairs for guests to sit outside. Our room faced the ocean so we got to watch breathtaking sunsets right from our balcony if we did want to walk out in the sand. It’s a fine powdery sand which was lovely when walking, it didn’t tear up my feet. Plenty of stuff close enough to walk to. A full kitchen with everything you need. Chairs, umbrellas and cabana things you can rent. I honestly just can’t say enough good things about the Shoreline. I could go on and on for hours about how great our week long stay was.

Pros: The room was clean, freshly painted, and updated. The kitchen was nice and well stocked with kitchenwares, and the in-room washer & dryer was great! The balcony view from the living area and the bedroom was ocean, sky, beach and pool. Beautiful! Cons: the AC units were loud. They sat low on the wall and vented to the balcony so sitting on the balcony was not that pleasant. The bedroom unit was maybe 2 feet from the bed and was literally in your face while laying down. We wedged a pillow between the mattress and night stand to create a barrier. We were in the middle building that overlooked the pool. The security light on the adjacent building was blinding at night time. It appeared to be angled toward our building so night time views were drowned out by that light. Bummer! No music was allowed at the pool. You could bring your own but had to use ear phones/buds. The facility did not have music either. Food and drinks were allowed at the tables by the pool but you couldn’t take your drink to the pool with you even if it was plastic & lidded. That was a bummer for an adults only place. The king bed was very firm, had high spots across it. Pressure points in my hips and shoulders were achy every morning. Pillows and bedding was nice, but the mattress was quite hard and rolly. We are not party animals, but would have liked more excitement. Quiet, very low key, no bar, no music. Some music and pool-side drinks by responsible adults would be better!!

Beautiful beach, well kept grounds and pool, 20 min walk or 3 min drive to John Pass. Room furnishings are getting old but we were there for the sun. Nice balcony overlooking the gulf made for perfect sunsets. Would stay again.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and will stay here again when we go back. Fantastic view, right on the beach. Great beds, clean and nice kitchenette. We deducted 1 star because the elevator was hit or miss. My wife had a knee replacement and not 100%. A few times we had to take the stairs which was a challenge. Luckily it was only the 2nd floor. We realize they are still recovering from the hurricane though. The kitchenette had zero provisions except dish soap. We had to buy paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters etc. Also had to go down and ask for a frying pan. Not major but didn't have to get all that stuff the first time. All in all a great place to stay if you don't have kids and would rather avoid them.

We would stay here again, I think. The room was clean, although it needed to be aired out for a while upon arrival; new carpeting may be in order. We both slept really well and appreciated the quality bedding. Listening to the ocean waves while falling asleep was priceless! -Also, the water pressure in the bathroom was quite good.
