[History]
Hatagaya received its name from the year 1082 when a legendary samurai Minamoto no Yoshiie was returning to home in Kyoto from one key clan war. Minamoto stopped at a pond to wash his ceremonial flag, put it up on a pole and hold a ceremonial enkai banquet with his men. The area's name Hatagaya (valley of the flag) was thus created and used for close to a thousand years!

My apartment is well located in the lively Hatagaya neighborhood on a local shopping street, called Rokugo-dori (No. 6 St.). It takes around 7-8 mins on foot or 500 meters from the North Exit of Hatagaya station! Shinjuku is only 2 stops or 4 mins from Hatagaya station. There are totally 12 subway/JR/railway train lines in Shinjuku for you to explore the city.

[Neighborhood]
Hatagaya is quite residential, very safe with demography 10% more female than male living in here. On the way from the station to my apartment, you will feel like locals! You will find supermarket, restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, bookstore, video game stores, convenient stores, bars and small-business feature shops.

Haneda airport: There is a direct airport limousine bus to Shinjuku, then subway train to Hatagaya. (The total travel time is around 55 mins).
Narita airport: (The total travel time is around 1:30 hrs)
- Route #1: There is a direct limousine bus to Shinjuku, then subway train to Hatagaya.
- Route #2: Take Narita line or Keisei line to Bakuraocho/Higashi-Nihombashi, then change to Shinjuku line to Hatagaya

・It's a spacious* 1-bedroom condo BEST FOR 2-3 GUESTS but can host 5 people using Japanese-style floor futon.
・ The bedding arrangement is based on the number of guests in reservation as shown below.
1. One full size (approx. 150x210cm) bed frame with mattress sleeps 2 guests.
2. One full size Japanese style floor futon** sleeps the 3rd and/or 4th guests.
・Good mattress, really comfortable!
・Foldable table and chair (in closet)
・Portable mirror (in closet)
・WiFi router
・Air conditioner (cool/heat), water heater with remote control, washing machine (no clothes dryer), electric hot water kettle, refrigerator
・Cloth pole, hangers and mini cloth rack

*Important!!! It’s spacious 1-bd in terms of Japanese view angle in the center of Shibuya. To be specific, the entire property is around 28 sq. meters. When futon is used, there is not much floor space left in bedroom. You will need to fold and put aside the futon to get more floor space for eating or opening luggage, etc. The listing pictures show everything of the room. There is no hidden space outside of the pictures. :) Please review them carefully and make sure the space is acceptable before making the booking.

**If you have special request for bedding arrangement, please make sure to communicate with me before booking. Note: floor futon is not in the room. I need to inform cleaner company to prepare it for you.
