The Bolten is in a fabulous location however it is so dated inside it feels grose. Old Stained carpets and sofas. Kitchenette had 3 single tea spoons in the family suite. Fridge cabinet door brackets were broken, towel hook on back of bathroom falling off. Netflix not working in master bedroom or lounge and tv working in kids room however remote became unresponsive. The arms on the sofas and chairs felt sticky and grose. Master bedroom was missing a robe. We moved a single sofa chair to face the TV and there was food under it. The kitchen tap was so stiff it almost didnt work at all. Had to keep adjusting the shower temperature all the time as it kept changing and going from luke warm to super hot so kids needed help. We stayed somewhere else for our wellington trip however wanted to stay a extra night and there was nothing available for where we were. We rung the bolten willing to pay 1k for the top suite which they declined which is fine so we took the family suite. Would love to have known the state of the top suite as I would have been gutted to part with bigger money for the same feel. Our kids did enjoy the pool and the beds were great and clean it was just the suite itself. It didnt have a above and beyond feel when it came to the staff either. We dealt with all our own luggage and got the trolley ourselves and transported it. They said they would ring when the suite was ready but they did not. We could have been good customer's however I dont feel we will return.

Helpful staff, comfortable room

A nice stay here in this hotel centrally located in the financial district. Our room was comfortable with a decently sized bathroom. Staff were friendly and very eager to please, making for an overall very pleasant two-night stay.

Bolton is located in the central city so it’s close to everything. The valet parking is a very useful service. Lovely hotel with very courteous and helpful staff.

Our stay was marred by our poor check-in experience with the duty manager, who, after apologising for keeping us waiting to check-in, then proceeded to answer a telephone call and keep us waiting for a further five minutes. His manner was also somewhat perfunctory, rather than friendly. We had a good-sized room, but the bathroom was a little tired, especially the plastic shower unit. We were also surprised to find that we were charged extra for our espresso coffees at breakfast.

Good hotel in business area of the city but walkable to all attractions. Very clean and quiet. We didn’t eat in the restaurant. There are facilities including a sink, microwave, and dishwasher. We just used the tea, coffee and milk provided. Good quality toiletries provided. We had conflicting advice from different staff about checking in for the ferry. We should have stuck to Gary’s advice to leave later as we were very early and almost last off!

Brief stay in Wellington

Overnight stay as part of a longer trip. City was busy with Pride weekend. Hotel convenient for tram to Botanical Gardens and particularly the walk back down. Staff helpful in storing cases and loading cases into hire car.
