The hotel is more of a wedding venue, and events during the week. The rooms are very poor condition, needing refurbishment. The owners are more interested in generating income from events. Breakfast served with very limited chooses for a 4 star hotel.

Breath taking location perfect venue for the wedding we attended. The swans swimming by during the ceremony priceless and the hotel amazing. It’s like you stepping into a different era. Our room was beautiful looking onto the courtyard. It had everything we needed and I would love to stay here again.

I get it, its a really old property but that has nothing to do with cleanliness. We had to move rooms on our 2nd night due to a flood through the ceiling from the room above, not a drip a full on shower, subsequently we had to move rooom at 10pm with a jovial duty manager who was obviously embarrassed, I asked about an additional night as we were visiting friends but he said it was fully booked, when we checked there was plenty of rooms available.... very strange!! I had just came off 3 days of chemotherapy so moving rooms wasn't ideal as we were settled in bed for the evening. Overall a beautiful building but very poorly maintained / cleaned so we wouldn't rush back. Kind regards Darren Giles

Staying at the Abby is like staying in a castle! The building is quite old but appointed well for a modern stay. Our room was spacious, our bed gigantic, like a king’s! The shower was fantastic. The location is off the beaten path, and since we were driving on the “wrong” side of the street, we elected to have dinner twice at the hotel… which is usually a no no for us, but the food was delicious both nights and we were happy to eat there twice. My only complaint is that the room was hot and I didn’t see the card telling us how to turn off the radiator until the morning we checked out. All and all a wonderful stay.

Coombe abbey

Myself and my beautiful girlfriend had a fantastic time. The upgraded room was more than we expected and made an already special trip feel even more special. We have some fond memories now and we are delighted with how friendly the staff were. Not a single bad word to say about this place and we will be back

We loved our stay at combe.Our bedrooms were so very nice and comfortable. It is a beautiful building with wonderful architecture and ambience. The breakfast was really good value and a wonderful selection of food,especially as we are vegetarian. The staff were all very helpful. We are looking forward to be able to visit again in the near future.
