The reception was cold and bordering rude and dismissive. We arrived about 5 minutes to 3 pm (the stated check-in time) and were told that the rooms would not be ready for 20-25 minutes. There was no welcome, no apology for the delayed availability of the rooms, no smile.
Coming from countries where the service sector is key to the economy, we know good customer service and the reception we received at Park Inn Brussels was missing the mark by far.
There was a change in front desk clerk and the first one did not even advise the new one that we were awaiting our rooms. At about 3:30 pm we approached the desk and had to restart the processes. Still there was no apology. The second clerk was keen to advise us that checkout is at noon with no consideration that we waited for more than 30 minutes to check in.
On our next visit, we will not subject ourselves to this type of treatment again. We are on a multi-city European tour and the service in all the other hotels was significantly superior to this service at Park Inn Brussels. We are indeed very disappointed! It is a pity that such a nice facility will miss out on future business because of the poor service.
