This is an excellent property in many ways but there are a few irritations, one a deal breaker meaning I probably won't return.
The building is beautiful, an understated elegant Spanish style, much like the elegance of the Art Deco Esplanade in Zagreb, Croatia and generally very well maintained. It is exceptionally clean.
The staff are some of the most attentive and polite I have ever met at a resort. They are kind and helpful beyond belief.
The three pools are clean, though just a little shallow for swimming, and I realize this can't be changed.
The plumbing gave us a couple of issues, with a drainage blockage in the shower and no water at one point, though this was quickly resolved, again a credit to the staff.
The food selection, presentation and quality are exceptionally good, though there is usually a wait at some of the more popular a la carte venues. Service is above reproach and attentive without being overbearing.
There was one problem that made me unlikely to return, though it may not be problem for many visitors.
All three pools do not open until 10 am.
If you like an early morning swim you are out of luck. I tried and was asked to leave the main pool. The ocean is there as a back up and I used it, red flags flying, but why cannot at least one pool be ready for use no later than 8. I have stayed at resorts all over the world and have never had such a late access time.
Boorish guests that drink to excess are probably beyond the resort's purview.
