Lovely Hotel with a couple of caveats

Lovely Hotel in convenient location in Chester. Have scored good overall rather than excellent due to pricy parking at location and an average breakfast.

Lovely large room, clean and great value for money in a good location! Only niggle was that it took a long time to check in, we queued for 25/30 mins despite filling in the pre-check in form - would be great to have a quicker option for those who have completed that.

I didn’t expect that…

I was very surprised to find prostitution in the hotel and it was in no way subtle. I would have been very uncomfortable if I was there with my husband It was a shame because everything else was lovely and the team at the hotel were excellent

Great Hotel for a night out in Chester

It’s a busy, big and beautiful hotel. Lovely bar area, reception staff was great, room was lovely and quiet. Will definitely stay again.

Dreadful, Dirty

Bathroom has black mould around the bath & Shower mat that they insist you use was covered in dried on filth. Sink took a long time to drain. Coffee machine was dirty and the drip tray appeared to have dried on mill stains. I wouldn't mind so much if it was an oversight and was resolved, but when we raised this with reception, they apparently were not interested and did nothing to resolve at all. Another guest overheard my complaint and said that she was having a similar experience in her room. There are much better hotels than this for a similar price in Chester. Won't be staying here again.

Beautiful hotel very clean lovely food we had a great stay and will definitely going back in the summer the only thing we didn’t expect was you have to pay for parking I didn’t read anything about it when I was booking the hotel so when you add it to your stay could put people off booking

we paid to be upgraded to a junior suite which we checked before we booked. There was no complimentary mini bar, no slippers, only got a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar for 1 of the nights. All cleaning did was make the bed and one of the chairs was all ripped with outdated tv’s, nothing like the photos show. this was for our 44th wedding anniversary as a treat. we also pre booked a 3 course meal after checking out the menu only to find if you prebooked only half the options were on it and the cheesecake was frozen, table service was terrible 1 and a half hours to get the meal. This was the first time we had stayed away from home on our anniversary and it was disapointing. went for a smoke and the only wall ashtray was so full you could not put a cigarette out in it

This is a beautiful hotel, very well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The choice and freshness of the breakfast was lovely. Ideally located near the train station and within easy walking distance to the center of town but far enough away to be lovely and peaceful. Excellent
