The Rhythm & Blues is an adorable cabin/cottage with everything you need for a short stay. I would absolutely stay again. The house is in need of some updating but everything is nice and well cared for. The only issue I found is that the upstairs is HOT. We couldn't find a remote or switch to the fans in the loft or bedroom upstairs - and they are needed - a necessity. I would add a mini-split upstairs. I had to freeze the downstairs in order to even be confortable upstairs.

Beautiful cozy retreat

We loved this house! The location was quiet yet conveniently close to everything. We spent a lot of time in the upstairs living room with beautiful big windows. The house was clean, kitchen was well stocked with pans and tools. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Communication was excellent. I appreciated being allowed to check in 2 hours early to get settled. My only complaints would be the kitchen was very small, good for its size but not easy for more than one person to use. Downstairs shower flow was a little weak. And the screened in porch had a great table but it was deeply covered in pollen and took awhile to clean. I know there is a lot of pollen right now, but it would have been nice to start the weekend with that clean. It was in the 70s- we wanted to be out there. Thanks for a great stay!! I’ll be back!

Great getaway

Tucked away in Chincoteague, the property did not disappoint. Our family felt very relaxed and living areas were very comfortable, we especially liked the sleeping arrangements and the king size bed on the upper floor. We would love to come back again.

Airy, quiet getaway

We loved this house so much last year, we booked it again this summer. It's in a very quiet part of the island, with a view of the lighthouse from the upstairs living room area. Well appointed, with comfortable furniture and a big picnic table on the screened-in porch. The kitchen is small, which can be a little challenging if more than one person is trying to work in there. But we'd very happily stay there again.

I want to move to chincoteague!

My husband and I had a great time, so did our teenagers. The house was beautiful! We had a fire alarm malfunction and they got someone there with in 5 to 10 minutes to fix it. We loved the outside shower! I would recommend this home to anyone!

Island Stay

Property overall clean. Check in and check-out process super easy. Communication with property managers easy through texting, but not really needed. Everything in the island was within 10 minutes from the property. What would be nice is a small tv somewhere in the small sitting room on the first floor. Otherwise, everything was great.

Wonderful, quiet getaway

We really enjoyed our time here! The house is at the end of a small, quiet cul-de-sac, surrounded by trees in an already quiet part of the island. The kitchen was small but really well-appointed. And the upstairs areas with the main bedroom and TV/sitting room were absolutely beautiful. The rental agency was great to work with, and having a linen package available really made our lives easier (we were coming from the west coast). We would happily have stayed another week.

Suggestions information etc.

Guest would benefit from a information booklet, there are two fire places that have no instructions as to how to use them? Unless they are not to be used, although they are listed as an amenity. For those folks who are not familiar with the area for groceries, parks, restaurants and places of interest could be listed in a booklet as well. We are use to having one TV remote, just have some simply instruction on what does what and what’s available to be viewed. Overall we were pleased, just need to make sure there is good info for when people arrive.

Communication was poor during problems. Beautiful house but cleaning job was extremely poor. And no solution was given when I called about the amount of filth. Left early because of this .

We enjoyed staying at this cozy home while we were in Chincoteague. We also appreciated that the property manager was communicative and wanted to make sure we had a great experience. There were no issues to speak of during our stay.

Great vacation home anD location

We loved Rhythm and Blues! 2 couples stayed 5 nights and went everywhere easily by car and bike: beach, wildlife refuge, town. Pluses: Huge main bedroom and bath upstairs with attached sitting room overlooking the main floor living space, with a view of the channel. Comfy and cozy living and dining room, but for 4 people only. A queen bedroom and bunk room with shared bath on main level. Great front deck. And an outdoor shower. Downsides: TINY, 1 person kitchen, but we’ll-equipped. “Screened” porch is not really usable because there’s no lighting, screens don’t go all the way the way to the floor on the outside door, and floor boards have open gaps that bugs can get through. Nice front yard but no back yard. Indoor and outdoor Pickleball at Island Activity Center was a real highlight, but only on weekends (and maybe Tuesdays?)

Adequate accommodations

Handy location, management recovered nicely since we required linens and did not have the 7-10 day required notice. They should have this detail on website. Location is accessible to everything via a short drive. Town and beach are great family friendly areas. We had a great time during our short stay.

Beautiful house but small living space and kitchen. I was there for a baby shower and needed to make muffins. Beware, the oven does not heat evenly. The top of my muffins were burned long before they were done!! 😕

Very nice stay

Our vacation rental/experience was perfect in every way! Upon arrival, the home was clean and well appointed. We arrived on the hottest day of the year, and the air unit wasn't working properly. We made a call to Seaside office and within 10 min Tim was out to the property taking care of the problem. When we returned from dinner about an hour later, the unit was working properly. Tim was a pleasure to deal with from start (booking) to finish. Excellent follow up/communication from their team. We were pleased with water pressure, nice welcome package, amenities for the beach and comfortable beds/couches. We'll definitely be using Seaside Vacations to book our next vacation in the future.

Quiet, tucked away place

I would highly recommend this place. We loved the look of the place. Its perfect for a small family or couple. Renting was a breeze from the getgo, from booking online, to checking in and checking out. It's not far from all the attractions so we were able to come and go pretty easily. Loved how friendly the whole town was. The only real con is that the view is blocked by the other properties. The people next to us were using the firepit and didn't know what they were doing which caused all the smoke to come our way and we couldn't even sit on the porch to enjoy the evening. Still did not ruin our trip. We had a wonderful time. Still highly recommend.

Beautiful home, great location!

This clean, beautiful house was perfect for our group of 5 friends. The location was great. We were easily able to ride our bikes all over the island and over to Assateague and the beach from there. The house even comes with a bike parking rack! There is also plentiful vehicle parking which came in handy since we came to the island in separate cars. It felt light and airy with huge windows on the front side of the house. The bedrooms were all at the back of the house and were quiet and private. The beds were very comfortable and at night I opened the windows to sleep with the fresh air coming in. There was a very nice private outdoor shower attached to the house (with hot water) that a couple of friends used. We all LOVED the loft and I spent several hours there curled up on the huge comfy sectional by the window watching the birds and enjoying the view. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything you could want for group cooking and eating. There is even a spice rack with at least a dozen spices so you don’t have to bring your own! The house came with a large, clean Weber grill and a supply of lighter fluid, lighter and tools that we used to cook a couple of dinners. We also LOVED the large fire pit and spent hours enjoying it every night. We had great weather and ate all of our meals outside at the picnic table or in the Adirondack chairs on the deck (which looked brand new). Highly recommend!!

Beautiful house, great location

I was surprised to be contacted shortly after my reservation was made to see if I wanted to purchase the linen package. I didn't see that linen wasn't included anywhere on the posting after going back several times. It's a 1 line sentence in the agreement that you read after clicking a hyperlink to open it. This was fine as I was driving there and we weren't utilizing ever bedroom anyway, but just know that it's not obviously noted in the listing. Otherwise the house was great and the location was perfect. The wild horses were beautiful! Great food all around the area too! I did text the property management company to let them know the upstairs fireplace was not functioning and the responses I got was that it's possible to owners shut it off with the warmer weather. Although I was coming from New England and it was much warmer in VA, a fire would have been nice on the 50 degree nights we had. It was also one of the major factors in my decision to pick this house over another, so it was a little disappointing.

This is a good house for maximum 4 adults plus children. The TV space is large and comfortable but needs directions for accessing cable, etc. Well lighted with multiple fans. The tiny kitchen has space for one cook. The house shares property and outdoor fire circle with a "sister" rental house.

We were super excited to stay here. Location was perfect and pictures were amazing. The pictures were accurate but the place was dirty, dusty and a bit dangerous. Only one window in each bedroom worked. The rest either had no functioning locks ( even on the main floor! Meaning someone could get in through the windows while you are at the beach or in the middle of the night) OR would not even open. There were too many cobwebs for me to count. The couches look like they have not been cleaned ( more than just vacuuming) in a very long time. I have a dust mite allergy and so does my husband. We couldn’t air out the house because of the window situation ( not enough functioning windows to create an air current and were constantly with sinus congestion and itchy skin while inside the house. We found an old dried bloody bugger on the wall of one of the bedrooms. The upstairs bathtub drain wouldn’t close so forget using it as a tub. The worst was the glass on the floor. Both my husband and two year old had pieces of glass puncture their feet. Bloody feet and bandaids was not what we bargained for.
