Nice hotel, lovely bar restaurant area. Room was clean & very spacious, comfortable bed and pillows. Nice pool area with hot tub. Easy access to town. Only issue was breakfast, cold section was excellent plenty of fruit pastries, cheese, hams but we found the cooked breakfast to be of poor quality beans, bacon were tasteless.

A good stay overall

The location is convenient for the train station, city centre and various restaurants and attractions. The room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable, apart from the lack of air conditioning (judging from the state of the curtains, the previous guests struggled with opening the windows). We enjoyed the unlimited access to the swimming pool and sauna. Breakfast was fine although some of the fruit, veg and fruit juice was off. Very friendly efficient staff.

Lovely hotel. We were here for a wedding which was beautiful. We had a late lunch when we arrived. Then wedding at night. Breakfast lots to choose from. We are booking again for 2 nights so we can use the spa.

Apex is a traditionally great brand in Scotland. The Dundee location is still good and the staff is great. It is due for a makeover, however. Things are a little run-down but not terrible. Still a good value and the location in Dundee is very convenient

Great stay for a family

We had a great family stay at the hotel. Plenty of parking, the check-in was fine, all the staff were excellent particularly the bar staff who were friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and very comfortable with great views. The only small down side was the pool is only open to children during certain hours, I totally understand this as it’s a private gym however I had tried to check on the website prior to my visit as my daughters love swimming but sadly their was nothing obvious on the website so they missed out. To the credit of the staff they did say we were welcome to use the pool even after we had checked out

Not great experience for a quiet & relaxing break

Had high hopes for our stay at Apex. However, poor communication and failure to manage guest experience meant that our relaxing stay turned into a stay that has resulted in a request for a partial refund. If booking with Dundee Apex I suggest checking what concerts are playing at the Slessor Gardens, Dundee Waterfront. Hotel doesn’t notify you of this when making a booking, nor do they mention it on arrival as a courtesy. The concert is extremely loud and goes on till nearer 11pm. So we had very little sleep as the crowds have to disperse too. Hotel also takes specialised group bookings which is great. However they don’t communicate with spa facilities to do block bookings to manage different guests. This created a very stressful situation and was extremely uncomfortable due to the spa facilities being small in size and specialised group requiring maximum space for getting about. Room had lots of gross stains on carpet as did corridor. Investment required and specialised cleaning equipment. Definitely won’t be back

Disappointed with Expedia. I booked two nights here and I was asked by my company to stay an extra day so when I went to book an extra night in the apex I was shocked to learn it would cost me £160 per night without breakfast. The first two days I booked was £127 per night + £14 parking fee. So when I tried to book an extra night Expedia had bumped the price up to £160 per night . I checked and there were plenty of rooms available so there was no excuse . Absolute disgrace!

The hotel was amazing but ! I needed to book an extra night for my work here. I went on the Expedia app to book an extra night and I was shocked to find that the price had shot up from £127 per night to £160 per night even though there was lots of rooms available on the night I wanted. The £160 per night doesn't even include breakfast! Wow ! Absolutely shocking from both party's . Expedia and the apex. Especially when I'm constantly using the hotel every week . Discuting way to treat regular clients.
