The room was very clean, they had eveything, very friendly staff and the bed was comphy. The only thing is it can get cold in the evenings in your room there. Properly because the building is so old. They do have a heater in your room, but i havent found out how to turn it on. I would definitely come here again!

1898 Deluxe

The General Palmer is right next door to the Durango Silverton Railroad so it is perfect for anyone planning to ride the train early in the morning. It is also a good way to immerse yourself in the past before getting on an old railroad. The beds and linens are very comfortable and the hot water for my shower was instant and plentiful. There is no desk in the room where you could plug in your laptop and work though there is a flat screen tv, marble countertop at the sink and the clothes closet smelled of cedar wood. It is old style elegance. The elevator is tiny and has a retractable cage. It was the first elevator in Colorado. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Chandler.
