A wonderful place in Old Town. Conveniently situated across from Grass Market. We were. On the 5 floor and kept a window open at night for air circulation, and with the fan provided the room was great. Even though the street was busy our room was quiet. I would definitely atay there again.

I chose this hotel for its location, easily walkable to the Royal Mile and right across the street from the pubs on Grassmarket. The room was fairly large and clean, with a comfortable bed. I left a note for the housekeeper regarding the shower gel dispenser, but we still never had a working dispenser the whole time. Front desk staff were okay but not super friendly; I think the hotel caters to large tour groups and isn't focused on customer experience. The breakfast was okay but we preferred going down the street to a cafe; the staff seemed rushed and unhappy. Good marks for the room and location, but not so much for the staff.

The property was well situated to visit Edinburgh and a reasonable walk to Waverley train station. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself was modern and clean and well appointed. The food at the hotel was excellent and the catering team were extremely friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!

This was the first hotel room I have ever stayed in that did not have a thermostat. The room was incredibly stuffy with still air. The window only opened a few inches but it was too loud outside to leave it open at night.

Best view of Edinburgh Castle was from our patio! Excellently located hotel within grassmarket area with tons of shops and restaurants. The Royal mile nearby as well as other attractions within a walkable distance. Parking in the back is limited but it’s there.

We paid for the Castle view room-- it was amazing-- well worth it. We were there in late July/early August-- fireworks and music you could see from the room every night. Very busy area with lots of shops and pubs but things close early-- not loud when you want to sleep...

This hotel shouldn't be advertised as 4-star hotel. Although it is not a bad hotel, the rooms and the building are a bit old, the breakfast options are basic, the bathtub in our room leaked water, the furniture in the common areas are worn and stained.

The property is convenient to everything. Didn't like the shower because there was only half of the glass wall and no door so the water was all over the floor. Additionally, during our stay there was a group of people were talking at the back of our room through 2am in the morning. We called the front desk but it doesn't help at all.

Skyland is a great place to visit in the grass market hotel is a perfect place to stay. The hotel staff is amazing and super friendly. Unfortunately, we got a stomach virus while here. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible. My only complaint was the beds are not as comfortable as I’m used to. Also, there is quite a bit of noise outside in the market during the evening and without air conditioning. Sometimes you have no choice to leave the window open. I think we would’ve been more comfortable if we had not gotten sick and did not have to spend so much time in bed.
