The location is excellent. It overlooks the babbling, west prong, Little Pigeon River. I think we had the best room in the place. We looked out onto the river and some trees and not the adjacent hotel. The staff was very friendly. The place is clean. The continental breakfast was no big deal, but there was plenty of it. I would have given a rating of five, except that the rooms need updating and maintenance.

Nothing special, but the price and for one night, it was good. At check-in the employee made it very clear to lock my car and not leave food inside it because of bears. Sure enough, saw one walk through the parking lot a short while later.

Although an older property, this location is excellent. Easy walking to the village, forest and access to great Smokey NP. The room was clean, the breakfast was more than adequate. Not a complete hot breakfast, but toast, muffins, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit and juices with tea and coffee. The best and most unique aspect is it is located on the river channel. The balconies each face the river, with many birds; geese, robins and more cruising the grass slope between our patio and the river. We fell asleep to the sound of rushing water each night. Again, it is older but the beds, furniture and linens were nice.

Hotel staff were nice. Hotel was in a good location to walk into town or the smokies. The breakfast selection was good, I especially liked the bear waffles. The only downsides were that the room smelled a bit musty and that there were only black out curtains. we were on the ground floor and everyone could see straight into the room so we kept the curtains shut but that meant we had to use the light to light up the room and it wasn’t very cosy.

We were very happy with this hotel. It was very clean and we loved having the river view and the river was right below us. We walked to two restaurants while we were there and there was also a close place to catch the “free” trolley! We will go back for sure!

Room 106 has a few updates in the bathroom such as a newer vanity, light fixtures, tub fixtures. The mattress needs replaced you sink into a pit on the left side. Overall cleanliness could have been much better. The bedskirting was stained and the walls haven't been washed in quite some time. The framing around the door has pry marks and daylight could be seen all the way around the door.

Second time staying here. First time was in December/January for our anniversary. Enjoyed the scenery so much we decided to stay again :) River view room is relaxing. Convenient to everything in town. Walkable to shopping and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and we will stay again.
