The breakfast buffet was not great. We had to constantly ask for plates, utensils, cups, no refills on coffee. Some food was out with no server available to refill. The staff were not very attentive compared to other places. O
This was by far the worst hotel I stayed in the 30 years. I stayed in a lot of budget hotels. Did not care much about the amenities but the cleanless of the hotel. This hotel was not a budget hotel, the price of the room was totally out of scale with the facilities. I am sure some 20 years ago this was a nice place, but in the last 20 years they have not done anything to the hotel. It is run down. The coffee shop/kitchen that serves the hotel and next to hotel is a health hazard. I tried not to eat anything at the hotel, and having seen where the staff stored ice cubes and how they handle them, I would not dare to drink anything iced. The staff was nice and this is not a surprise, everyone we encountered at the island was extremly polite and helpful. I would give staff 5 stars if the hotel was not in the condition it was. When we checked in, the sink was clogged for example.
Outside the hotel : The hotel is in the nicest place for snorkeling. Right before the hotel is the best snorkeling location. I will give the location 5 stars.
I will also file a complain with expedia for misrepresenting the place.
I never write a review but this hotel was misrepresented on expedia and definitely a health hazard. The room we stayed was classified as a suite and the price was that of a suite room.
The hotel is in a great location. We stayed in the bungalow and it was clean and comfortable beds. Has a room safe and mini fridge and air conditioning unit. The shower pressure was a bit weak but what do you expect on an island. The beach was right in front and beautiful snorkeling right out front. The beach is white and sandy but when on the edge it is full of shells so very sharp so needed some water shoes and purchased them right down the way. The staff who worked there were extremely friendly and professional. The Bali people are truely so friendly. The breakfast is good. Has all you need for the day. They always had water available for consumption. Had dinner there the last night and it was good. We tried to support the staff there as they are so nice and the island was closed for 2 years. Rented the bikes for five dollars a day and loved this about the island. No motorized vehicles on the island so that is really nice. Horse and carts or walking is how you get around. Rented a boat for the day just my husband and myself for 85$ Australia a day and that was nice. Went to all three Gili islands. I would also say hotels dot com to have a minimum characters of one million characters is a bit much. I don't even write that much to anyone and it is a deterrent to write a review but I am doing one anyways because I want people to know how awesome this resort is and how the staff deserve the businesses. So now I'm just going to say great island.
Staff was very helpful, locastion is perfect, just infront of the coral reef. Howeve, rooms need a bit of refreshment.

We paid more than we would have liked to for accommodation at Sunrise so you kind of expect more. The receptionist was very new but check in was awkward & we weren't given no information on the property. It was very quiet with guests when we were there, seemed like more staff sitting around than customers
We arrived for breakfast the next day not realising it was a buffet style (nobody told us) & you have to find staff to order eggs/pancakes from
Beachfront property & the snorkeling right infront of the hotel was the best place on the island for this so this was great 😀 Tons of sunbeds on the beach & asked if there were another beach umbrella to which the staff said their wasn't so about 4 in total for all these beach sunbeds?!
The room was really nice & was nice to have a pool too but overall was disappointed in the hotel & the money we had spent here, it just seemed to lack any management or atmosphere
This is certainly the prettiest and most comfortable hotel on the island. The pool is oh, so pretty, the position is right on the beach and the service ultra kind and unobtrusive. A romantic lifetime memory of the very best kind.
We loved our stay at Sunrise Gili Air for 4 nights during our honeymoon! The resort itself is in the perfect location on Gili Air - about 10 minutes from the harbour and located right next to the best snorkelling spot on the island! Lots of great restaurants and snorkel/dive shops nearby.
We stayed in one of the Signature suites with a big, comfortable bed and daybed on the main floor, and an open air loft with 2 hammocks and bean bag chairs up top. The pool area is big, beautiful and well maintained, and the restaurant is gorgeous as well! The buffet breakfast in the morning was great, and every staff member we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful! There are loungers overlooking the ocean, which get swapped out for romantic candle lit tables for dinner.
Overall we loved our stay at Sunrise Gili Air and would definitely recommend it!
This is a perfect hotel. Fabulous location with turtles swimming on the adjoining reef in the morning. Stylish grounds and a lovely pool and ultra friendly. Wonderful food. Superb service. A short walk from the harbour. Near everything. Wow it was amazing!
Just about 10 minutes walk from the pier. Great sunrise view. The restaurant staffs were very lay back. Don’t expect immediate services.

The location is fantastic and the room, bathroom, pool, service were incredible. They are currently renovating and there is A LOT of construction being done which I wish I would have known. It was hard to enjoy the property during the day with all of the clinking and sawing of construction happening on all sides of the room. But the staff were incredible and the proximity to great snorkling is unbeatable. I just wish we would have known about the construction for all of the money we had spent. Without construction, I would revisit in an instant.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, always smiling and welcoming. The suite we stayed in was a pleasant surprise - very spacious and nice, although not as polished as some people may require, however we were quite comfortable and Sunrise is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
We loved Sunrise Gili Air. It was the perfect location, with incredible snorkeling right outside the hotel, lovely bungalows, super comfortable beds, lovely staff, GREAT food, and lovely sunbeds to relax on and look at the beautiful view.
It was by far our favorite place to eat on the island and we truly hardly left the grounds. Would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Gili Air.
I only write reviews if it is extremely horrible or over the top good. Unfortunately, Sunrise Gili Air was an awful choice for our stay in Gili Air. When we arrived late in the afternoon we were quickly taken to our first row suite bungalow only to find out the air conditioner wasn't working. I advised the front desk immediately who called housekeeping. A young man showed up who didn't speak English and held is hand over the vent and shrugged his shoulders. They offered to move us to another room for the night but that room didn't have working air conditioning either. Then we were told a new unit would be there tomorrow. I asked for a refund and told them I wanted to move to another resort. The front desk said I had to pay a cancellation fee if I chose to leave! I had purchased the most expensive room in their resort to have the worse stay possible! Also, there was blood on the sheets and the toilet would not flush. At checkout, I was offered USD $25 for the inconvenience of no air conditioning for the first night and all night the next day. Also, quite coincidental the new unit showed up on the next day which tells me Sunrise Gili Air new the air conditioning was bad! This resort is definitely a zero to one star at the very best. I highly recommend you DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!

When we first checked in at this hotel, my partner went for a swim in the pool while I settled our things into the room. He was rudely approached by a staff member named "Chris" a blonde guy with longer hair who said that he had to leave the pool and that it was for guests only. My partner replied "My friend I'm staying at this hotel" To which the staff member replied "I'm not your friend and I'll have to go and check that" When he returned he continued to ask my partner to leave the pool, but shortly after realized his mistake. He tried to explain that a lot of people try and use the pool, however we stayed for three days and not even hotel guests used the pool much, and the rude factor was not necessary. It left a bad feeling after having just checked into the hotel. The hotel room was not that great, and had a off putting smell to it. Also saw bugs and lizards crawling around the walls. The staff in the kitchen also tried to charge us for food and drinks from a previous day and during this time we weren't even on Gili Air but on Gili Meno. Breakfast was not appetizing and very disorganized. Order part of your food, and the other part of your meal arrives half an hour later. Not impressed, would definitely not recommend to anyone.
Great stay. Beautiful location. But due to rebuilding of beachfront on whol island lots of debris and poor road conditions. Resort was great. Definitely would recommend.

Good staff, very good breakfast but hotel it self needs improvement it is already falling a part, room AC is so so at night but during the day it is too week...
The hotel was nice, very clean good food and very friendly staff. Water smells funny and wifi doesnt work well in room but else is great! Great location as well!
Unfortunately did not have a great stay here. The room was at the back and while adequate it was very unclean. The floor was dirty and stained. I asked the attendant if he could wash the floor. He said they did not have a mop. I asked the front desk if I could get my floor mopped. Didn't happen. The breakfask was disappointing. Instant coffee, powdered juice, fruit that was old,white bread, etc. Pool area was fine, quiet and relaxing. The location is on the southern part of Gili. The beach has lots of garbage on the shore and in the water. The north side was quiter and much cleaner There hotels cleaned and raked the beach. Originally scheduled to stay for 6 days but left after 4. Management was good enough to refund my 2 days. Overall really disappointed with the island. If has a lot of garbage and refuse around and smells of rotting food. Too much tourism unfortunately.
