The room, while superficially clean (no dust) had stained carpets and curtains and was rather basic for what we have come to expect from a ‘boutique’ hotel. The beds were also very hard, which is not my preference, so something to be made aware of.
Another thing to be aware of is the blues bar, almost directly below the hotel. We, despite being on the fourth floor, were kept awake by a rowdy crowd there on one of our nights, which was followed by a 10 am fire alarm the following day. Not the greatest start to a relaxing, waiting outside for a headcount and the all clear, in the Scottish winter!
The hotel is ideally located though, great walking distance for shops and bars etc.
Overall we felt this was not value for money.
