Bonvoy prize wheel a total bust

We were told to spin the Bonvoy prize wheel for members when we checked in. My son spun and won a “free breakfast”. The lady checking us in said it was only for the member but she would give one to my son also and note that the breakfast would be for both of us. She offered this, it was not something I asked for. The check for breakfast came and we were charged the full amount. I explained about the wheel at check in and got nothing. At check out I explained again and got a lecture about the breakfast only being for one and for members only. I didnt eat, my husband did who is also a member and in my room. What started as a nice jester left with frustration and a bad feeling all around, dont have a prize wheel if you are not prepared to act on it. The place was also worn and only one elevator worked causing huge lines.

Only thing I didn’t like was my ocean view included a green roof and beach chairs and umbrella stand, wasn’t pleasant at all. Also first day of checking in it looked like a construction site everything was blocked off because they were painting.

Beautiful view/comfortable beds. Room above being remodeled with no warning or offer to move rooms, VERY noisy. PVC type railing on balcony has gaps along each side large enough for a small child to slip through. Everything is an upcharge. Water in room for $6/bottle. Milk in lobby $5/7oz. Had to leave to get affordable drinks/snacks for the family. Mandatory parking 20/night but not guaranteed a spot in their limited lot. No free coffee. Just overall less accommodating than much cheaper hotels. Not a cheapskate - but the money does add up for a larger family without leaving so plan ahead.

I love our stay in this Hotel. Clean, updated room with nice swimming pool, there is nice dinning options in the hotel, like in all Courtyard Hotels, but you need to pay for it. Our room was with balcony and ocean view (recommended). Location is just a few steps from ocean.

Nice place

EXTREMELY loud!! Whole floor of college kids yelling, slamming doors, and running up and down the hall all night. Dogs barking woke us up the next morning. The hotel itself was nice, staff were friendly, and great location. Our “balcony” room ended up being on the 2nd floor with only a view of the roof top and no ocean.
