The property is in a good location downtown and close to shops, parks and dining. Easy walking along Victoria Avenue to coffee and happy hour at local restaurants and walking to Riverfront Park, and felt safe to do so. The room was quiet. The hotel is older, and they have done the best they can to update and refurbish. It is a cool heritage building and has some neat features like the old elevator. However, many things that are still lacking in the update that just make it still feel a bit run down. Dirty, smeared windows and glass doors along the main street and the entry doors, missing light covers on the ceiling lights in the hallways, just bare bulbs, run down pub/bar on the main level and a liquor store in the building as well. There was never anyone in the bar and it was not appealing to walk into. The complimentary breakfast was served in the bar in the morning and it was subpar for offerings. It could be a great restaurant space if some refurbishments were made. The front desk argued with my husband about the parking fee as I had left early with the vehicle we registered and he had biked up his vehicle while in the city and was staying another night. They wanted him to pay again for parking for that vehicle as they didn't believe him that the first vehicle was actually gone!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was good. At night I could hear thumping from the music in the lounge as I was on the floor above. I fell asleep eventually. The bathroom was clean but in need of some repairs, cracked ceiling, hot water tap was so hard to turn on I had to use a facecloth to grip the handle, and floor tile cracked in front of the sink. Otherwise the stay was fine and location was great.

It’s an old building in need of updates, but the bed was comfortable. No amenities to speak of - no business centre, no gym, barely a lobby. I paid for parking at the hotel, but the lot was a block and half away. The area around the hotel doesn’t feel safe an after dark, and it’s incredibly loud throughout the entire night (and thin walls means you hear all of it).

Its an old renovated hotel. Nice lobby, cool old elevator! Room is small but we are only here 1 night. Bathroom is very small and the shower is a corner shower and no lighting gets in. Area is right downtown and can walk to the river park. Staff was very friendly

Great old hotel, needs updating

Stains on chairs. Very tired and worn desks etc. Bathroom taps loose, doesn’t the cleaner notice this? Beds and pillows are great. It’s a great heritage hotel, just needs a bit of updating. Also more outlets for the electronic age.

Tired and dated, but comfy

The hotel is very tired. Bathroom plumbing was all over the place, the toilet kept running, and the sink had enough water pressure to clean a driveway. Vanity doors were in very poor shape, and there was no extra toilet paper. Pop machines were out of order, which you didn't find out until you got to the floor they were on.
