The rooms are dates but very clean and tidy. The resort grounds are clean and well kept. The clientelle is an older crowd and families which makes it a quiet and relaxing experience. This isn't a rowdy spring break experience. We chose this place because it was right on the beach. We could see whales off shore constantly. Definitely a perk. We did not opt for all inclusive, although our breakfasts were included. Breakfast was good, service was spotty. We ate dinner at their restaurant on the last day and ot was mediocre at best. Glad we didnt spring for the all inclusive. Food in town is WAY better.

They ignored my gold membership benefits and upgrades. Drinks were watered down, so stick to beer. Very dated rooms. Price reflects the negatives I guess. Very handy and safe walk to the marina. They don’t allow Uber on the property.

The Solmar Resort is one of those rare finds that is too good to be true, except it is. The Property: Immaculate. On the beach. Whales, by the hundreds (yes, hundreds) swimming by, breaching, and playing so close to the shoreline, you could almost reach out and touch them. An Expedia Special VIP upgrade put us in a full suite, high floor with two balconies, the Whale Watching Sky Box, I'd say. Pools perfect for lounging as long as you care to. The Food: Full-service bars and restaurants offer traditional Mexican and American food. The People: Always attentive. Always exceptional service, from everyone, but let me mention one person, in particular, the Concierge, Dania Tapia. We had never visited Cabo before, and Ms. Tapia's exceptional knowledge of the area, positive attitude, and tireless efforts to make our stay memorable, made us feel like royalty, and we cannot post enough words to express our deep appreciation for her insights and efforts on our behalf.

We were very impressed with the staff here, everyone was so friendly and everything was very clean! The rooms are outdated but that didn’t bother us we had an amazing view of ocean and pool areas with 3 balconies. Amazing to see whales non stop swimming by. Great beach to walk every day. You can’t swim in the Pacific Ocean there but that’s ok the water was cold this time of year. Great location to walk to the marina or restaurants and shopping! It’s very safe.

Beautiful property, hast that old world Mexican charm, beachfront and stunning we enjoyed our stay the rooms are large and clean, although some renovations needed the room and balcony is beautiful overlooking the beach

This hotel was comfortable and just the right size. The beach, though, was not really walkable -- very high, sloped dune that was difficult to walk on. That could just be the time of the year. We saw whales from our balcony, though, so that made up for it. Also the perfect place to watch the sunset.
