the room was clean & the bed very comfortable. They were understaffed and it was hard to find someone at the front desk for help. The bill was overcharged from what I had arranged for on line, but it was eventually corrected. The included breakfast was from 7-10 but by 8:30 it was nearly empty. I finally found someone to refresh (they were helpful and courteous when they finally responded), but we were ready to leave. The decor is sparse & cold.

Still a very quirky place. 'Closet' and 'drawer' space is an open rack. Very squeaky wood floors from yesteryear. Prices reflect being in the middle of town vs. somewhere in a chain motel closer to the interstate, I guess. Breakfast buffet not quite as good as I remember it from previous visits now that it's kept out of the PT space occupied by the Prairie Canary folks.

We like the concept of the hotel and maybe when it first opened it was better, but certain aspects are now lacking. In the first room we were given, the AC unit wasn't working and didn't fit the window properly (toilet paper shoved around it). We were given a different room and this AC unit worked but the filter was filthy. My husband washed it in the sink. It also took 15 minutes to get warm water in the shower. The hotel itself is so hot and it was only low 70s outside. I can't imagine how bad it gets in the summer. The saving point is the Periodic Table which is the little bar/restaurant. Overall I would assume this hotel probably does not get many return visitors.
