First room they gave us had not been cleaned but they fixed the problem right away and gave us a new room. Two pools and two hot tubs which is a great idea. It was nice to be able to walk to Mall of America. Front desk staff were great, breakfast staff a little curt, but not terrible. Shout out to Pierre at the front desk! Super nice guy

The carpets weren't the cleanest, so I recommend extra socks for walking around. We chose this place for the spa, but the chlorine was so extreme we couldn't get through the door without our eyes watering. Tgif and Ihop are directly connected to the hotel, but this is not explained at check in. They do have hot breakfast in the morning and a shuttle that will take you within 5 miles of the facility. The staff were very polite.

Staff was very friendly. Pool area was very big so it didn’t matter that there was a lot of people using the area. Only real complaint was that our bath tub did not have enough pressure to get the shower to work.

We visited the Mall of America for a special occasion. We chose this hotel because it was close and decently priced—expected to have a great stay but ended up having the worst hotel experience that we’ve ever had. We got a king suite on the third floor and upon arrival, we noticed a smell right away. It smelled like someone had just used the bathroom right before we came into our room. There were obvious brown smears all over the lampshade in the main area—pretty much everything was scuffed or dirty, cabinets were broken, the toilet seat was chipped and needed replaced. The king bed had tiny pillows and the room in general was pretty small. When we went to use the bathtub, we found short black hair in it, and it still had water pooled from the last use. After filling the tub, it was clear that it had not been scrubbed and sanitized properly, as it had a slimy residue all over it. The whole bathroom smelled musty. When we went to get extra bedding from the closet for the couch, the bedding was dirty and had hair on it. Got another set out, still dirty. We complained and they said they would upgrade our room, they didn’t. It was the same room, lower floor—still not great by any means. They did refund us for one night, that’s it. The chlorine in the pool area burns your nose and eyes. To top it all off, our vehicle was broken into while we were parked at this hotel. The entire stay was a nightmare—go to Homewood Suites next door, or anywhere else, for a better experience.

The heating system in the room was a bit clunky. It was 75 in the room, and it took quite a long time to cool down once the A/C was engaged. I checked the filter in the room and it was filthy. That, most likely, was at least part of the reason the HVAC wasn't very responsive.
