This is within walking distance to Asilomar state beach but they placed us in a corner room under the stairs that would creak every time someone stepped on them. Our Downstairs room also got a lot of foot noise from above. the smoking area was right next to our window. I think the Smoking area should be moved somewhere not right next to the rooms.

I arrived here after midnight after the lobby is closed. After 3 hours travel. To find that the toilet was not working. We had to use a trash can to dump water into tank for it to flush. I called the lobby and was told they’d send someone in the morning. The next AM, I checked in with front desk and was told the toilet would be fixed while we were out for the day. I called around 4:45 pm to confirm it was fixed and I was told it was “working”. We arrived at 8 pm- to find it was still not flushing. The front desk mgr came to inspect and determined that it was broken. Telling me someone would come THE NEXT DAY to fix it. And showed me a way to jimmyrig it by turning the water line on/off. I was not happy. I expressed that they had been given ALL day to make sure this was fixed and I didn’t care to jimmyrig the toilet. This is not what I paid for. I demanded my money back or another room. They said they were sold out. And could not make that decision. I asked for the owners contact information and they said they would reach out. But not to expect a response on a weekend. Finally on the 3rd night all was in working order. I don’t think it’s fair that I had to pay for a room with non working facilities. I have a family with a young children and the toilet is a basic necessity. The mgmt was very kind and understanding but I need answers and remedy. They were given a chance to fix it and failed leaving us high and dry

Third time here and we never had any problems until this time . Toilet was not working properly- tank wouldn’t fill and ran constantly. when I let office know, they asked if we were staying two nights - which shouldn’t make a difference- we did stay two nights . They never came to fix it! We poured water into the tank to make usable!

Noisy employees at night! Guest beware!

Our stay began with a nice and pleasant welcome. However, at 9pm, I was trying to sleep.Then I kept being waking up by the facility employees! My room was #101 which was next door to an employee lounge room. I would have expected the noise coming from another neighbor but it was the employees with friends and family and kids speaking loudly to each other. I went outside to speak to the receptionist which i met outside and explained the issue. She said she will take care of it. Nothing happened. Next morning, i mentioned to a young man about 35 about the issue and guarnteed this will not happen after I requested a refund. During the night, employees were worse up until 11:30pm. This is too bad. I will never return. Nice place but the employees dont care!

We arrived at 5 PM, but our room still wasn’t ready. With two tired and crying kids, the situation was extremely frustrating. The manager only offered a late check-out as compensation, which didn’t help much in the moment. Overall, the customer service was very poor. This place is just an average motel—nothing special, and certainly not worth the hassle. There are plenty of similar options in the area.

Comfortable rooms

Very comfortable beds. Clean. Walls thin though and a bit noisy when in room due to thin walls, we heard people coming and going all night). Nice location right next to Asilomar. Small rooms. Comfortable and relaxing. A bit expensive for what it offers. More of a “rustic” experience. Very low key, but I would recommend if that’s the experience you are looking for. No extra “frills”. No breakfast, only coffee (sub par)
