Lovely room, friendly and welcoming hostess. Stayed one night. Walkable to the wharf and Golden State Theater. Vibrant neighborhood. Quiet. Only one negative. It was stated that there is plenty of street parking. Most parking on street is 1-2 hours Monday through Saturday until 6p. Hotel provided some limited parking for $20 per night. Will be coming back

Great but super firm bed

Overall wonderful location, continental breakfast better than expected, charming rooms. King size bed was very hard in room 2. Definitely in need of replacement.

Great room that was HUGE! (Honeymoon Suite). Loved the antiques. Parking was very tight and limited is the only negative. Great convenient location to all the downtown restaurants and wharf.

Location was very convenient, we parked our car when we checked in and didn’t use it again until we checked out! We walked and or took the free trolley to the wharf and cannery row. We brought our e-bikes and rode for miles and miles along the coast in either direction. The property was well maintained and the staff were all friendly and helpful!

The Merritt House Hotel was beautiful and quaint. The employees were very cordial. The rooms were gorgeous. The seagulls do not sleep. The fireplace and skylight put a beautiful touch on the room as well. We could have used a microwave in the room but we loved it.

Good for short stay in Monterey.

Quiet at night (we had a room at the back above the carport), close to downtown and the wharf, good selection continental breakfast. Clean, spacious room. As others have noted, no elevator and a fee for parking. Price better than other properties in the area.

It was cute cozy place to stay with great convenience to many amenities around the town. Remodeled bathrooms were clean and pleasant. The rooms were pretty dark even though we turned on all the lights. Only thing was that the walls were thin so the next room conversations were easy to hear.
