We booked a handicap accessible room as advertised on Expedia. However when we arrived we were informed that the request “didn't go through”. We were informed the hotel only does roll in showers for king rooms, not the double queen we booked for. We had four guests and did not want to pay for an additional room for the websites mistake.
They were able to provide an in shower seat, but my sister who is in a wheel chair, had to step up into the shower and was unable to shower without assistance. This was a huge disappointment.
They didn't do much to accommodate us beyond the in shower seat.
Luckily she is able to move on her own with assistance, but if she wasnt it would have been impossible to use the bathroom in our room. The bathroom had no bars on walls, and in order to exit the room with the wheel chair, we had to push her into the bathroom. The door was also extremely heavy and she would not have been able to get out of the room on her own.
