Location is good, hotel is ok

The hotel is a bit of a miss. Much more outdated than the pictures, we had few luggage which was tight to fit around. Also a piece of a wall fell down overnight made white dust on our bags and shoes. One day we didn’t get towels after room service. The pool is a good idea but it’s super small.

I recently stayed at the Empire Hotel in New York from July 8th to 13th and was quite disappointed with several aspects of the stay. Firstly, ongoing building works were happening during my visit—something that was never mentioned before booking or at check-in. The noise and disruption significantly impacted the experience. The pool was extremely small and did not match the way it was portrayed online, which felt misleading. Additionally, the rooftop bar is not part of the hotel, something that was never made clear beforehand. This meant limited access and a lack of amenities you’d expect to be included. Perhaps the most frustrating part was how the hotel handled access during busy times. There was a premier event while I was staying, and they allowed non-residents to use the lifts. As a result, guests like myself couldn't get to our rooms without long waits—or worse, having to take the stairs. Overall, the location is great, but the experience didn’t live up to expectations, especially for the price. Communication and transparency were lacking throughout.

This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel. The property is very poorly maintained. It is clear that they did cosmetic upgrades when Gossip Girls was filmed, but that was it. First room had no working AC nor mini fridge, received a downgraded room, but did not receive the refund for waht teh room downgrade was worth. This could be a great hotel, ist a shame that it is in such a degree of decay, as everything seems to be falling apart. It isin such a great location. Trust the reviews, i did not paid for it.

The location of this hotel is brilliant. Close to the subway, opposite the Lincoln Centre (where we took advantage of the free events that were taking place) and 5 mins from Central Park. However, the room, whilst spacious left a lot to be desired. Dated decor, broken wiring on lamps and sooo noisy from old air con and the fact that our room overlooked a courtyard full of air con units. Check in was not ready at the designated time of 3pm despite us arriving early and having requested early check in in advance. Although we were aware this was not guaranteed for the room not then to be ready on time was not ok after a long flight and two hours of filling time waiting.Guy on reception was downright rude. No welcome to the hotel , no pleasantries- and he appeared to be training junior staff- not a great example. The hotel location worked well for our trip but I would not say that the hotel itself enhanced it.
