The Empire Hotel was disappointing. The room had a furnace, which is fine, but when it kicked ON it was so incredibly loud and obnoxious. I couldnt sleep! I had to move rooms. The staff was friendly, I will say. They accommodated me. The hotel is just too old and has issues. Wont be staying there again.

The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, the bedding and sheets were lovely. Had a wonderful view of the pocket park in front of the hotel. Check-in was fast and efficient. The doormen were courteous. The price was perfect. The location is excellent!

The room was clean. The heater was delightfully oppressive on a zero degree day. The tv needs some updating but it was fine. Loved the bottles of water at check in. Everyone was great. Wish there was coffee in house instead of having to go around the corner to Starbucks but that’s mostly zero degree weather related. Loved my view of Broadway.

The hotel needed basic maintenance...no heat in the room...it was 11 degrees outside...no hot water...LOUD 1st floor room...When our credit card statement was reviewed, we had a $22.89 charge since Expedia used. A third party charge I was told. I called the hotel and asked for the service fee to be removed...Denied... Go someplace else that respects you and doesn't hide fees to their customers...

I booked 2 rooms at Empire Hotel due to the snow storm in NYC. Seemed lovely but decieving. Hidden $22.89 charge since Expedia was used. Sneaky. Never mentioned when checking in. Neither room had heat. It was 11 degrees out. Had to call twice then go to front desk for maintenance to turn heat on. TV did not work. VERY noisy room next to elevator but thank goodness for earplugs. Comfy beds. Pretty lobby. Close to Central Park. But Sneaky hidden fees. Called after received credit card statement....The fees were never mentioned when checking IN or OUT ..Find an honest hotel...

Enjoyed my stay. Incredibly nice and helpful staff! There were a couple of maintenance issues in my room and they fixed them so promptly that I was impressed! Great location. I can’t say enough about the staff, from top to bottom excellent. No coffee maker, but Starbucks on the corner.
