CASH DEPOSIT ONLY! They refused to take credit card, debt. ??????? He demanded CASH Only! Just a little confusing. He said it was for amenities?? Idk it was just unclear. Hard to understand his way of talking It’s not bad for what you pay, for.

We usually visit the area 2-3x per year staying 1-6 weeks at a time. Castaway Motel and a few more other properties are always our picks when we are in the area and we had been coming to Castaway for at least 10 years. The previous management had taken good care of us but unfortunately they moved on to another property in Anaheim. We came here because of the previous nice management and the newer rooms were nicer BUT we like the location of the other options. We had always taken care of the rooms with respect and kept it clean with every single visit. We decided to give the new management a chance. Unfortunately, every single time, they gave us a reason for not giving us our preferences for the room request even though we are staying 4 nights. We are pretty easy going so we just took whatever room they had given us. However, this last visit, we came into a room that still had wet floors and it wasn't clean properly. The chemical smell was strong and wasn't good for our lungs. The housekeepers came into the room each day and our toothbrushes that was resting on top of a clean towel were flipped onto the hard surface of the countertop above the toilet which we didn't appreciate. This will be our last visit to your property. The other options that we like within the same price range are in better locations and nicer management that try to work with us with our room preferences.

Check in staff was nice. Room was not cleaned well. Sticky substance like a soda had spilled on the nightstand. Hairs in the bed. Towels were old and stained.
