The room we were initially given was exactly clean and one of the wall lights hanging off the wall. The cleanliness of the room was not up to standard. Only one socket in the whole room for charging. The staff were helpful and kind and assisted us when we approached to change rooms.

No a/c, you have to leave your key card when go out. Room was tiny, Only positive as you can find nice restaurants and bakeries with 5-15min walk But wouldn’t stay there again, spend extra $30-40 and get better service

Its conveniently located near gare du nord which houses the eurostar and multiple train lines which take you as far as versailles. The hotel is old though and has no shower curtain and only one outlet insuggest getting an extension cord at a convenience since its unlikely they will renovate the rooms as it is an old building.

For Paris no complaints

Got caught up in the Gare du Nord unexploded bomb scenario. Hotel found me a room for an extra night.

This room unfortunately didn’t meet expectations. What looked like a quaint quirky and reasonably priced French hotel was a low quality and unsatisfactory room. The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbour coughing, talking and having a wee! The spare pillow for the uncomfortable bed had no pillow case and was discoloured, there was rust/staining on the bathroom ceiling and no shower curtain (when this was raised with the staff we were told the cleaners would just clean up any water on the floor). The room had an unpleasant smokey/musty smell and there was little to no electric ports. We ended up leaving after one night and going to another hotel because we both slept so poorly due to noise in the corridors/neighbouring rooms and we wanted to enjoy our five days in Paris more than we would have if we stayed at this hotel!

The Hotel Metropole had eveything I needed for a short stay in Paris. Close to Gare du Nord and Montmartre, and not too far to walk to Les Halles. The staff are helpful without being intrusive. My room was so cute. I will stay here again!

Very bad

The room was filthy, and noise from other guests made it hard to relax. Throughout our five-day stay, the staff never changed the bed sheets—just did a quick tidy-up. Even upon arrival, the sheets were already unclean. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to the unhygienic conditions, and the pillows were awful. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Ants and stuffiness

There were ants in the room and it smelled odd. The balcony was lovey but was accessible by other rooms so it wasn’t secure to leave open at night to air the room which was really hot at night.
