The entryway light switch did not work so you could not see anything when you entered the room. Also, the nightstand light would not turn off, it had to be unplugged from the wall. The pillows were huge and lumpy, the absolute worst of any hotel I've ever stayed at, not befitting of such and expensive hotel.

Lighting in the room and bathroom was very dim we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and we did not have enough room ( dresser space) for our clothes Housekeeping did not come by once or leave a note when we left our do not disturb card on the door, most places we have stayed at they will leave a msg with the front desk or slip something under the door to see if we needed fresh towels or something..

Great location in the heart of downtown. Historic old building that has been renovated for the hotel. Old world feel with modern amenities. The room was small, and tiny bathroom setup, although kitschy cool, was rather annoyingly less than opportune functionality wise. Staff was over the top helpful and friendly. 5 stars to them.

Air in the room set to 68, and two water bottles in the room upon arrival. Was very seamless process valet was very curtious and helped with bags. We were very pleased with the entire experience!

Clean hotel. Nice staff! Only problem we had was check in. We called and informed them we would be coming in late. When we got there, the doors were locked and the check in desk plus on the 2nd floor. We called the front desk with no answer. Lucky for us, someone was leaving so we were able to get in that way. They need a door bell or something for after hours.

A humble, noble gem in Pittsburgh

The lobby made us feel like we had entered a time machine; the magnificent architecture, the stunning marble and inlays were breathtaking. Our room was quiet and clean and well-stocked. The staff are so friendly, always smiling and eager to help. The Rebel Room, however, leads the list of our lovely experiences. Amazing menu, the best meal we'd had in our stay...and it was a short elevator ride to it!

If the hotel had the room available that I booked via Expedia this would’ve been a more positive experience. I booked a king studio with a pullout bed and we received a king room with what looked like a small loveseat. I spoke to the manager on duty and she was very helpful and I could tell that this was an issue that comes up often. The hotel should update the rooms on Expedia so that this does not happen to customers. If you book the king studio with pullout bed I’d suggest calling the hotel in advance and confirming that they have the room you booked available. The hotel itself was designed beautifully and the history of the building was awesome.
