We enjoyed staying at Hotel Island - the concierges were great! Security was good - pass keys for the elevator, and a safe in the room. Brunch was available and the service and food at restaurant was very good, but wasn’t always open according to their posted hours. The housekeeping was adequate. The hotel is well situated to a pharmacy, grocery story, tech store where we bought local SIM cards, a 24/7 grocery store, Sculpture Museum where we got our City Passes which included free entry to many attractions, including the nearby pool with hot tubs, steam room. It’s a short walk to the bus stop, where you can take a bus into centre centre. And there are many relatively inexpensive (for Iceland) restaurants nearby. Hotel Island was a great choice for us!

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. the hotel is not downtown, but if you do have a car, it's only a few minutes drive. The spa is very small, but overall nice. A little disappointing that it's closed on Sunday. we've tried the restaurant twice, the food was good, it's overpriced (like everywhere in Iceland). The fish specifically was very fresh and good.

The hotel room was fine if a little small for four people. The spa facilities are wonderful but they need to stay open later. The breakfast is excellent (though expensive - standard for Rekjavik) the dinner was quite poor which was disappointing. The location is odd - it’s a little out of the centre and needs a bus to get to the centre. These are easy to use but would have been better if we were in the centre.

We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing fancy, but very clean and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We will definitely visit again. Wish it was closer to downtown, but other than that they were great. Breakfast was delicious!
