While no one can control the sargassum seagrass there are eco safe proven ways to minimize it and the resort should do that. Charging an 18% gratitudity on everything, from 1 $7.00 beer to a dinner tab is blatant price gouging. You misrepresented the beach at the resort, even if there was no sargassum, there was no beach to speak of and your overview would lead people to think there was. The food at the resort is OVERPRICED AND HORRIBLE after our first day there we made sure to eat elsewhere. Every staff member was polite and courteous and tried to help. The air conditioning in our room stopped working the second night and twice someone came to fix it and it worked for about 30 minutes and stopped. I was sitting outside the room, ground floor of building 10 and someone, most likely a housekeeping staff member cleaning a room after check out, dumped a bucket full of soapy bleach water over the top floor balcony that splashed all over me. Even though everyone there was friendly, unfortunately I would never recommend the resort to anyone.

The stench

The hotel was beautiful. And the staff were kind and courteous. What really detracted from the overall stay was the horrible stench that permeated the hotel. As soon as you get out it is there. There is nothing you can do about it, but it is quite horrible. It reeks so we were not able to comfortably eat at the restaurant or have a drink at their famous Margaritaville bar. It was so bad that it was also in the bath water. I'm not exactly sure why it smelled so badly over there actually, but I believe it is the water from the dock area and where the hotel is located. I cannot tell you how horrible it was so leaving the hotel is a definite must to get away from this stench.

Unfortunately the smell of the seaweed was atrocious. This really ruined my stay at the resort. I was not able to enjoy any of the amenities due to the smell. I could not go the pools or eat in the restaurant. The smell is overpowering and made me physically ill. I felt like a prisoner. I was only able to stay in my room or leave the premises. This was vey inconvenient and I would not recommend going during the time that this is a problem. Other beaches were available but a hassle to wait on shuttle . Especially when you thought you were reserving a beach front property..sad , very disappointed with the over all stay

I was unable to arrive at the property on my check in date due to Hurricane Erin - there were no flights in or out of St Thomas. When I arrived the next day to check in I asked about a refund for the previous night, I was told there was nothing they could do, to check with Expedia. Expedia contacted the property and was told that no refund is to be given. I tried to contact the property via phone, no one answers. This was an extraordinary circumstance, and no consideration was given. Stay some other place, even if it costs a few dollars more.

hotel shut down everything when the storms came through. had very little rain and winds and they shut down the restaurant ( which means we had to find a taxi to take us shopping) the pools were closed. A/C is the room did not work well and staff said to turn it off and let it unfreeze. I would love to get some money back on this poor vacation

Property was very nice and well kept. Topography made getting around difficult, would not recommend for anyone with mobility challenges. There were a lot of stairs and uphill/ downhill climbs to get across the property. Golf carts were available but hard to get in the evenings when most guests were on property. Pools were lovely and drinks although expensive were very strong. Restaurant on site was terrible and service was very very slow. We made our way to red hook each evening for much better dining options. Rooms were very nice and clean, ice available across the property.

Beautiful property! Amazing staff! Only issue was the seaweed (which is out of the hotel’s control) and the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant were super sweet, the food was ok. We decided to do just the breakfast.

Im a everytime i vacation i must stay at Margaritaville because everything is always perfect. Nightly Entrainment and always clean around the property. Always Entrainment at the pool. This time was a disaster with everything. Hopefully next time everything is perfect. I will try again but ive always love this place
